    Oh I wasn't suggesting that someone would realistically be choosing between an i8 and a tesla, just that I think tesla should have made their car look a bit special, all futuristic and shit, to help it stand out from the sea of bmws, audis, and mercs out there.

    Ha! I guess owners will just have to make sure to open and close their doors whenever they feel like their car isn't turning enough heads :)

    One of the pricks in my block has a Tesla S which is the world's most economical car as well as the world's most boring.

    Most economical because he never uses it and most boring because he talks about it at huge length. He's also bought into the utter bullshit in an alarming manner: apparently there will be a firmware update at some point for his car where he can call it and it will drive itself to his location.

    I'd just drive with those doors open.

    I'd prefer it without the daft doors, I can't stick bikes on the roof.

    Yeah, but like that they'd smack into your rear bumper when you stopped at the lights, then drag along the ground gouging holes into your number plate while the top of the steerer tube scrapes along it.

    Of course, you need fixings for a roof rack of almost anything else, it just felt a bit disingenuous putting a bike there then taking it off before it drove anywhere. I'm honestly not sure the best way of securing a bike to that contraption.

    What's wrong with a standard tow bar mount? Assuming they fit them with tow bars... which I imagine they do.

    These things are amazing: http://www.thule.com/en/gb/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/towbar-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-euroclassic-g6-929-_-929003

    Yup looked totally weird just hanging there. Advantage is still being able to open the boot.

    @DaM
    Your offsetting against corporation tax comment hasn't half had me thinking! I had a test drive of the 70d today and it truly is fucking amazing, completely ground breaking. That acceleration through all the speed ranges is just insane and I love the features of the giant screen / brains of the thing.
    Anyway , I've 90% convinced myself (and the wife) to put a deposit down this weekend to receive in time for this financial year and just read about the referral programme and wondered as such if your bro in law would be interested? If I've read it right, I'd get £1,000 off purchase and he'd get £1,000 credit for servicing or accessories. I think he can do more than 1 for future reference.

    Sorry to ask if this is out of order but thought I'd try!

    That test tunnel the vacuum sort, or just the bog standard tunnel + pusher affair?

    It's an elaborate trap and he's thrown down a couple of exquisite Thai boys so the nonce diver takes the bait, and then there will be a mysterious fire in a vacuum tunnel

    They’re not mutually exclusive. The guy can be (and is) an absolute bellend with horrible ethical standards, but still be behind enormously significant innovations.
