I can't see it making much difference in terms if pulling people away from PS4. I doubt there are people out there so desperate for any next gen console that they'll buy whatever comes first.
And the casuals who will buy whatever's there.... Can't because everywhere will be sold out with pre orders.

It's all about making the other console's release "old news". Non-gaming media outlets will be all over the first launch. The second one, notsomuch.

As we're getting the PS4 two weeks after the US, maybe the Xbone will come out a bit later here too? Presumably still November though.

MS wants a worldwide release - that's why they've lessened their launch countries to ensure they have enough to sell.

I agree. I think they'll launch in all announced territories on the same day.
