    Super Mario Bros.

After the first level or two I lose all interest.

    Metal Gear Solid 2

Lost the will to live around the oil rig section.

Oh yeah, kinda is like that thread. See how it goes. Maybe more varied and old stuff. Lock if you feel it is too similar.

    GTA 1 & 2.

Not sure if there is an end game, do you just balance favour with gangs ? I just ended up racing about, going on rampages. Skidding round corners was fun in that view point.

I played Final Fantasy 8 for around 100 hours and never completed it. Loved the game so much I did all the side quests and levelled everyone up, then never continued the story. Would love to go back to it but I no longer have my game save

Half life 2 and all the episodes, there's some kind of curse on this game that by the time i reach near the ending my computer, hard drive included ends its life(not kidding happened 4 times now)

Did not finish the episodes because i want to finish the main game first, interestingly the same thing happened to a lesser extent to my brother with 2 of his computers.

Pacific Strike. I loved those games back in the day, playing Strike Commander, X-Wing, Tie Fighter to death. This one just somehow never clicked with me. I guess I could go back to it, I know I have the disks somewhere, still.

    Always out of time. :(

I think my brain disengages at the same played game time. Boredom level maxed out.

I'd go with around 75% of all games I've played.

@andytheadequate Shame about FF VIII, I completed it once. Though found it dragging on a bit towards the end.
As for me, never completed FF VII. Did not even make it past the first disk. Just was not for me, sadly I found out too late.

Also never finished Mirror's Edge. I found the controls clunky after beating the mobile version of the game (would you believe it). You could see your character in the mobile version, it played like a platformer and I liked that.

Also, never beaten ANY Gran Turismo game or a Pokemon game. Would like to meet someone who did, actually.

    LA Noire: Because it's bollocks.

Umm... Most of what I played on the C64 when I was wee because I was young, shit and ginger.

Most Amiga games, famously getting precisely fuck-all-where in Shadow of the beast 2 because it's nails, although I did finish the first and third ones.

Mechwarrior 2 on the PC, although what a damn fine game. Just lacked the skillz etc.

    Most other games.

I only started actually making sure I finished games since I got back into gaming two years ago, now I make sure I complete everything if I can.

Apart from LA Noire (see above)

    Tell you games I made sure I did finish. Thief 1 & 2, System Shock 1 & 2.

Oh, most RTS's I never finished. Total Annihilation because it got a bit dull and there were too many campaign missions. KKND because it got too damn hard. Red Alert I think I finished but I don't know for sure to be honest because I remember just playing skirmish mode all the time and tweaking the spec for all the units with a text editor.

This. It's only this generation that I've really made an attempt to complete most games I own, I used to get bored of a lot of games or give up.

Actually I don't think the thread is the same if we're being pedantic, because sometimes I just never get round to finishing a game, rather than making a conscious decision to actually abandon it.

I usually finish pretty quickly, often after 30 seconds or so.

90% of all my games to be honest. I never finish hardly any of my games these days. Usually lose interest 3/4 of the way through.

Final Fantasy VIII. Got to final fight, which took minimum
of 20 minutes each attempt, and never beat it. Wasted hours of my life trying. Also ditched Final Fantasy XIII, though didn't wait so long to abandon that.

I will probably finish Forza 3 at some point. Too grindy though.

Every game I've ever bought with the exception of Sorcery+ and Deus Ex Human Revolution. Don't know why I bother really.

A game called The Ninja on the Mastersystem - to get to the castle at the end of the game you are required to collect 5 (i think) invisible green scrolls dotted around the levels prior to the castle, and we could never the final scroll.
Those were the days, when stuck meant stuck and not a web search away from moving on.

It's rare that I finish any game I start. Recent examples include Bioshock Infinite (abandoned after getting the crow power...thing) and Crysis 3, which bored me to tears which was disappointing because I really liked Crysis 2.

This gen (be surprised if I remember them all):

Half Life 2/all episodes (PS3 broke far into HL2)
Infamous (Have tried to pick this up a few times, too long)
Hitman (played most of it, but shit compared to the Hitman of old, cba any more)
Dead Space (Only started recently, might pick up again)
Skyrim (requires far too much time)
Arkham Asylum (Got bored, but again this was recently, might pick up again)
Arkham City (Got bored, too linear)
    Fallout 3 (PS3 broke 30 hours in)
Killzone 2 (Ditched the SP for the MP after playing an hour of it)
Heavenly Sword (PS3 broke, didn't mind in this case, nearly completed)
Just Cause 2 (Hated this, one hour played)
Red Dead (Too big, much time required, played like 2 hours)
GTA4 (Too shit, about a third played)
DMC4 (Too gay, not as good as DMC3)
Assasins Creed 2 (Few hours played, actually like it, got distracted)
Resistance 2 (Great set-pieces, Too on rails, About half finished then swapped on here)

Loads more I don't really regard as proper, such as WWE12, POTC Lego, etc.

Even more I've bought which I have not even started. Including Bioshock 2, Mirrors Edge, Deus Ex.
