    :D

    It's bound to have something.

Maybe a mysterious sound that only happens between 2 and 3am that I can never locate and it slowly drives me insane.

@Psychotext not any more. It used to be divided into two options, the current help to buy, which is for anyone, ftb or not, but only on new builds, 5% deposit, 20% government equity loan, 75% mortgage.

The one we did has since stopped, which was only available to first time buyers, where you got a 95% mortgage but the government guaranteed 20% of it so the bank would be more likely to lend when they were refusing loans to anyone, but was available on any house, new or old.

So they talked a good game yesterday about they were going to have the plasterer here today and we'd start getting rooms finished off.

Plasterer didn't turn up, and now I have their odd job man doing the plastering. Wonderful.

I'm in the process of buying wheelie bin storage. Why did no-one tell me home owning was so exciting?

Why don't you just leave them near the path in the backyard like everyone else?

Does it not fit in with the desired carp-pond aesthetics? ;-)

I could just throw them outside next to the road, but it would look a bit shit.

I had a yellow notice in a sticky seethrough envelope on my garden wheelie bin yesterday. Turns out I haven't paid the subscription for this year... but it really looked like they'd given it a parking ticket.

Wheelie bin storage is a serious matter

Hm. So if this indemnity policy gets setup, I think that's it. Money transferred, everything signed, wheelie bins present and correct.

    Nearly there!

My main interactions with my neighbours seem to be when we're all complaining about our shit houses. :D

why are some builders so shit. I have seen some beautiful places, but almost all my personal experience with various tradespeople is with friggin morons. (bar one guy who fixed a leak in our house and I didnt even notice he fixed up and painted the ceiling to look like nothing happened).

Is there a huge price difference between the good ones and the bad ones, or is it like rental accommodation in London where the price has no bearing on the actual quality?

Water pressure (plumbing generally) and insulation seems pretty solid. I'd say whoever did the tiling is pretty good too.

Rest is wank. I found some more uneven ceilings today. lol

My council makes me pay 40 quid a year for garden waste collection. Fair enough I guess, only I slightly resent paying it now iin case I actually manage to move house sometime this year...

I can only assume all these people with no hedges and weird astroturf fake lawns kicked up a stink about paying for services they didn't use or something

Fucking amazing... on top of everything else they're now building a path right in front of my house that goes to the park around the site. Bye bye privacy.

They make you? That's mad. It's an "optional" service here, costing £60 for collection every other week. Most people would prefer to go to the tip. Except they have shorted the opening hours of the tip to 8am-6pm. Meaning those that work during the week have no chance and weekends are horrendous. Really dangerous too, as cars are getting stuck in the queue and taking risks to get past.

Hmmmmm. Any room for complaint? I'd be worried more about security than privacy to be honest.

My council also charges for garden waste collection. It's about £70 for a large bin. They also made me buy the bin.
