Total silence from Google about the failure of their fix to do the job for many new Nexus 7 owners. No admission. No followup. No statement from Google. Rushed out a poor fix. Consumer Reports said do not buy until/unless Google truly fixes the Nexus 7. Not a word from Google. This hurts Google's reputation seriously. Bugs happen. Teething issues happen. BUT...putting out a fix that has done more harm than good for many.. Inexcusable. Then total silence for weeks about what is going on. Hardware issue? Quality control issue? Software/firmware issue? All of the above? Silence from Google... |

If you're really stuck try a factory reset. So long as you're all synced up it will automatically redownload everything after the reset. -

Registered 17 years agoMy Nexus 7 HD was not that functional as I got it from Ebuyer a week before launch and it hadn't had the firmware updates that unbroke video playback.
Only issue I have with it at the moment is that I can't seem to login to Netflix. -

Registered 17 years agoAnyone have any experience with fixing these things?
My Nexus 7 (2012) got dropped and the back flew off. Now it won't turn on or show any sign of charging.
I've opened it up and checked all the connections, nothing obvious is broken, and there's no cracks on the screen or anything. Seems unlikely there's be no visible damage at all for it to be completely dead. -

I had a similar problem and it was the battery connector which worked loose, I had to stick electrical tape over the connector to hold it in place and I taped the battery in place to stop it from shifting again. My nexus 7 has been going strong for 12 months since my bodge (repair).
