A month and a half early, sure, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling on the annual EG NaNo thread. Any old hats doing it again this year? Any newcomers? I'll probably be doing it, but I'm also leading a real-world group in it too, so if I do manage to squeeze it in I doubt I'll break my 14 day finishing record from last year. But we shall see. I'm still on the fence but my gut-feel is that I won't be doing it this year. The missus has a week off in November so she'll be mightily pissed if I spend the whole of it shut in the office, plus I haven't finished the edit of my NaNo 11 book nor the first draft of my Nano 12 one.
It's a shame 'cos I do have a pretty good idea of what I want to do next. But it feels like I should take a year off and actually finish off the things I started, otherwise I'm going to end up with three unpublished novels sitting around doing nothing.
Of course, I say that now.... but.....gif)

Registered 20 years agoI'm in despite a backlog of things to reand and write as big as Olympus Mons on my desk.
Come to think of it that is the best reason to be in. I got bogged down again. But with each year I inch closer to the finishing line.
I have no idea what the fuck to write about this time. But that has never stopped anyone.
And I am sure that MetalDog will join us.

I fell off the writing bike during the school holidays because I just couldn't get any time to myself. And then... I sort of haven't got back on. Feeling pretty bad about it, tbh.
I've got like a chapter and a half left to do. I think I've got at least two chapters sitting there unpublished (although I seem to remember being quite unhappy with at least half of one of them).
I'll take myself aside and give myself a good talking to later. -

I was going to wait until Oct 1st to mention it, but I'm glad someone else started this thread since - thus far - no one who's started the new NaNo thread has managed to finish their yarn that year. Over to you to beat that curse, meme =)
Absolutely no idea what I'm going to write though. I want a break from Sci-Fi, so probably fantasy, but that's all I have to go on at the moment.
