I saw Rammstein at Brixton Academy last night. Think German, Think Rock, Think Fire and be very afraid. The best gig I have ever seen - rib virbarating noise, and more pyrotechnics than the Millenium fireworks - there was fire coming out of ceiling, from the floor, from flamethowers, from masks the band wore - it was incredible. There were fireworks on the stage, coming out over the audience. The last song finished with the bass player crowd surfing in a rubber dinghy. If you haven't heard or heard of Rammstein they are the band who play at the beginning of xXx. Apologies for the seemingly poinless post - its just the gig was so awesome I had to tell someone about it. |
My ears are still ringing

Registered 17 years agoeviltobz - you will not be disappointed, this set is awesome - however I don't want to spoil the show for you by giving you any spoilers.
The crowd last night was fanstastic - loads of energy, but very well behaved, oh and loads of gothy chicks
Have fun, and be prepared to lose your eyebrows if you are standing near the front

Registered 18 years agoas i say, i've seen em before, so whilst i expect it to be somewhat different, i'm familiar with the near death fire experiences down in the mosh at the front. and down in the mosh at the front is where you'll always find me

Registered 18 years agobut sitting is a pointless waste of time and money razz. if you aint on your feet at the front then you aint at a gig. you're just watching a band, and theres a world of difference there.

Registered 19 years agoMmmmm I can't wait. Am trekking over to Manchester on Sunday to their gig, am getting excited now, especially if its going to be as good as you say.
My only problem is that apparently the tickets my GF got are for a balcony section, and not the pit :S -

clive, don't think rock, not even slightly. think industrial hardcore metal or some other such overly wordy way of describing a genre. -

Registered 17 years agoNot a bad gig, but I think I preferred their toys from when I saw them a few years back. His arm-mounted flamethrowers were nice during "Rammstein", but wasn't as cool as when he used to be on fire *himself* during that song.
Didn't see the god squad that always turn up at these gigs, either - until the train home. That manc dude gets everywhere. I didn't realise he was a Jehovah's Witness until he got off the train and I clocked his literature. Shame, really. I thought he was just your usual God Bod with his "Don't be a sinner, be a winner" malarkey. Turns out he's just a fuckin' nutcase cultboy. *sob* -
