Xbox One Lock Ins! [Oct/Nov Tour] Xbox One Lock Ins! We’re all counting down to the launch of Microsoft’s new Xbox One console on November 22nd, but, thanks to our newest Lock In, you may not have to wait that long to play it! We’ve teamed up with Microsoft for a series of Lock Ins throughout October and November, with over 60 stores across the UK opening late to offer the gaming community the chance to get hands on with the Xbox One and games such as Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, RYSE and Killer Instinct ahead of release! We only have 70 places available in each store, so to reserve your place, register at your nearest participating store, either in person or by sending them a tweet. Spaces are limited and will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. The events are strictly for gamers aged 18 or over and ID will be required for entry. Get hands on with the next generation at the GAME Xbox One Lock Ins! Edited by CableNut at 17:25:07 09-10-2013 |

Until you set foot in the store and they randomly add a £30 charge, ya know, for overheads and stuff! -
Can you even fit 70 people on most GAME stores ? -

Registered 12 years agoKinda want to try the Xbox, except that:
a) I don't want to spoil the newness of opening the box in November
b) I don't particularly like GAME as a company
c) The idea of spending an evening in a small store with 70 "gamers" makes me feel uncomfortable -

That's the deal breaker right there.

Can I stay at home and do something interesting instead? -

... honestly, who would say that?!
Sounds like a special kind of jail for "gamers". -

Registered 20 years agoI have a vague memory of a similar Gamecube event, at the Barrowlands in Glasgow (a concert venue). It was weird....
And the original XBox, in the arty farty Lighthouse in Glasgow too...I remember playing Halo. I got an XBox beanie too, woo! -
@CableNut
Does a row of Kinects all scan every customer on the way in and out just to make sure you've got their vital statistics, colour of underwear and sexual preferences filed away somewhere?

Registered 15 years agoQuite irritated that Manchester isn't on that list. I mean, Middlesbrough AND Teesside Park, but not anywhere in Manchester?! Crazy! -

Wow. Didn't notice that. That actually IS crazy. Weirded out they chose White Rose over city centre for Leeds, too.

Registered 16 years agoXbox One shut ins would be more apt.
How long would this be for? I'd be expecting some sort of Lord of the Flies scenario if it was more than an hour. -

I clicked the link to check, I thought surely one in Greater Manchester? But no. Must be due to the official MS showings in Manc and London.

Registered 15 years agoActually that does make sense. Why step on the toes of MS' official tour? -

That seems a likely explanation to me. Of course, when they first announced the lock-ins, they hadn't announced the Manchester tour!

Registered 15 years agoFirstly I wouldn't attend a Game lock in I can't imagine its fun unless youare into COD and Fifa and erm.....all the dubstepz.....
Anyway looking at the list it sucks that it looks like Scotland has 4 venues on the list. The one in Glasgow is a tiny store in the scummy shopping centre and I have no idea where they will fit 70 people in it -

Registered 19 years agoSadly Northern Ireland seems to be missing out on the "being locked into a tiny room with 70 bags of acne, testosterone and dubstep" party. -
@sickpuppysoftware Thank goodness for that. They should lock the staff in until every single pube is removed from their pre-owned game boxes. -

Registered 19 years agoWent to the first one in Dundee last night.
Deary me. 6 machines. 70 People. Chaos and zero order.
I queued instore for nearly an hour - watching some greedy tadger playing for nearly 20 minutes!
When I finally got my turn on Forza 5, I got one lap - then told to hand the controller on, as it wasn't fair, apparently.
Feedback - controller is quite nice & light. Xbox is really large.
Forza 5 is very pretty.
Ryse, Killer Instinct, and Dead Rising didn't interest me enough beyond watching over a shoulder, so we left in disgust.
Sorry Microsoft, you really must do better.
No features or UI demo (I expect some students are still feverishly coding it) and they really need to stop talking about Killer Instinct as if it's the second coming. I mean.... really ? It's technically a f2p cashcow! -
Seems like something to miss then.
