    Hi all,

Just got a phone of ebay for my nieces birthday, a Samsung e700.

And right off, the language is in Chinese (or similar) something which wasn't mentioned on the sale I can assure you.

Now, I've finally got the language to English, but the date will not budge out out chinese. It's in formate of:

    7/Feb/Chinese

Basically, 2005 is always desplayed on the front of the phone and on the main screen in chinese and I can't even find out how to disable the clock so that it dosn't display.

    Any ideas? Any forums?

I wish I was your niece, that's a decent phone!

    /*in retrospect; perhaps a nephew?

    The phone :)

You should be able to blast the phone clean, have you checked the phone forums?

You can find a decent one here.

My gf's actually got that phone so there'll be a manual lying around here somewhere. I know it won't help that particular problem, but if you've any other questions it might help.

    Cheers Kalel. :)

As someone who's "ofay" (sp?) with the phone, maybe she'll know whow to remove the time settings from the front & main screens?

    That's "au fait", Lutzie :)

Um, don't know anything about the phone though, sorry!

Hmm. She's not here right now, but I've got the manual in fornt of me, and to be fair it's probably a more reliable source.

I'm on the time setting page (menu 6.4), and there's no way to get rid of the time as such, but you might be able to get it into the right zone or something.

To reset settings go to Menu 5.9, then SELECT, YES, OK, NO. That will reset it and change the password to 00000000.

I don't think that'll help though, I suspect that will make it all go back into Chinese again. I'll keep looking for something. It's quite a substantial manual for a mobile.

Sorry mate, I've scoured the manual and its not very helpful at all. There might be someone at work who knows more. I'll check tomorrow.
