| Available to download now if you've pre-ordered. Anybody tried it? Lots of discussion on the official forum about the new tactics system. I reckon it sounds like a step forward but some people are upset about the removal of sliders. |

Registered 15 years agoTempted to wait for full release + patches. Also wanting to take my save on-the-go with my vita; is that due to come out simultaneously with its bigger brother? -
Must resist not enough time in the day
arrrggh damnnit there is a víta version -
Seems like there's no release date for the Vita version at the moment. -
I'm interested to see how the built-in (after market) Genie Scout/FMRTE works out.
(Cloud saves are a plus though!)

Yeah, cloud saves = great news. I'm not sure I can put so much time into this year's. 600 hours in 13 was a bit OTT. -
600 hours Christ, who did you play as?? -
I've put in a similar amount of hours too, but some of that is idle time. I wish you could delete your playtime in Steam. I'm ashamed. -
The mighty Luton Town! -

Registered 12 years agoAnyone played much of the demo yet? This is probably the first one ever that I haven't pre-ordered.
Might just be due to the timings, as a few games that I've yet to play/finish this month, would appreciate some thoughts?
Just checked my timings, 1140 hours on FM13 - holy fuckballs.. -

That's an average of 22 hours a WEEK for an entire year. Even including some idle time, that's half a full time job. How do you have time to play anything else?

Have fun! -
That's what she said? -
Still think it's crazy you need to pay for the editor (the one which changes things mid-game).
Fed up with these IAPs in full price games
-
The normal database editor is still the same. FMRTE and GS have always been donation based external programs. I don't see anything wrong with bring them in-house as an optional extra. -
I dunno, they saw a way to make a quick buck and went with it, bet it only took them a day to write the editor, just feels a bit off.
And how could they think it's a good idea to remove the tactics sliders?!? /facepalm -

Registered 18 years agoThe removal of sliders are a move to making the game more lifelike.
They want you to feel your doing a proper coaching job using the type of terminology that an actual coach would use in a session, not playing a computer game.
I have not played the Beta, but I think people will come around it. They have been gradually moving towards this the last few years. If you follow Miles on twitter you will know he is all about going to coaching sessions and seeing how the "Real " thing goes down.
Whether that can be translated to FM and make you feel you are imparting your football philosophy enough is the question.
Some might say its a further dumbing down of the game. -
I wouldn't class this as dumbing down. It makes it more realistic. When was the last (first) time a manager said, "right Geoff, I want you playing three clicks left of middle today, but this winger's tricky so maybe five clicks right on the width scale instead of four, OK?"
NEVER, THAT'S WHEN!
