I want to play Diablo 3, now. And nothing else. Everything in the last few days felt unsatisfying because it's not D3. And the releases in the meantime will just be fillers. :-/
I am normally quite patient, but not in this case.
The only thing I can think to do is reactivate my WoW account again for a bit, which at least would provide a small Blizzard fix as an alternative to the ageing Diablo, but my enthusiasm for WoW never lasts anymore.
I've spent more time than I'll admit in the last few days rewatching videos of the WWI panels and the D3 videos.

Registered 18 years agoIt didn't surprise me that a few idiots immediately started whining about the look of it, but it does surprise me that so far 30,000 people have signed the petition. WTF?
It looks absolutely stunning, I get goosebumps every time I look at it, especially the opening shot of the dungeon, or the first outdoor scene with the waterfall. Thankfully there's no way these whiners make a difference, but it's still depressing. -
I only just noticed that the game's official site has quite some stuff on it now, here. I had only really seen the videos and some concept art, but now there are first bestiary entries, a map, little movies showing the skills (same skills as in the gameplay videos, but not from that video), etc.

Registered 17 years agoI never finished D2 or even got half way. Installed it the other day but I cant get it to display with the correct aspect ratio on my widescreen monitor. Cant stand fat-o-vision. Shitty Nvidia and their crappy drivers... I was able to work around the problem with custom resolutions but this doesn't seem to work with my new monitor. -

Registered 16 years agoPlay it windowed; -w is all you need to add after the target on the properties. The resolution isn't going to improve but at least it won't be stretched out. -

Registered 17 years agoYer I know. Nvidia scaling is screwed though so It gets stretched wide. I don't want a higher resolution I just want it stretched to its maximum while keeping the correct aspect ratio i.e. black borders each side. Which used to work, bust now doesn't. (fixes and works arounds seem to have varied mileage)

Registered 18 years agoI've always had the same problem with ATI, the 'maintain aspect ratio' and 'centred timings' settings only work with some games.
As M_E said play it in a window, that's what I do and it's fine as long as you use the expansion to get 800x600. The cinematics won't play in windowed mode, but if you want to watch those keep a second shortcut without the '-w' parameter and use the cinematics option on the main menu. -

Registered 17 years agoNah monitor doesnt have that option UncleLou. Same problem with Startcraft, it's more than a little annoying! Thats for the suggestion Dr.
With my old Dell 20" screen I could use Nvidias custom resolution option to force 640x480 at the correct ratio but that doesnt work at all with my new 24" monitor. -
I love the narrated videos Blizzard provide. Can't say I'd ever enjoy Starcraft and Diablo could probably only hold my attention for a short time...span but the videos are so enthusiastic and are thusly endearing things to watch. -

Registered 13 years agoHey, sorry but I was one of those "idiots" who signed the petiton... But considering it's rather impossible that Blizzard changes their minds for a few of us, I don't regret it. Maybe they'll just add an option for "old-fashion-black lovers" and that's it. -

Maybe it's just Blizzards way of doing things. Anywho, I noticed some of you have gone back to Diablo 2 and such, but as I love the 3D grafix™ I decided to buy Titan Quest + Immortal Throne on steam for a nice $20 ($23.50 with tax). Anyone else decided to give this a play? -

Registered 17 years agoWell I tried running Starcraft under XP in a VM, that didn't bloody work. Set the res of the VM to 1024*768 to give me a reasonably big window to play the game but upon running the window reverted back to 640x480 which is pretty damn small when the native res of my desktop is 1920 x 1200. This is starting to get on my tits now... -

I, embarassingly enough, started a new character last week. I am glad TQ has no "hours played" function..gif)
