I think if everyone can learn anything from this sad couple of days it's that nothing ever gets resolved once it descends into name-calling. If everyone could've kept their cool from the start it could've probably been sorted out in an hour and we'd all be back to calling each other names in jest by now instead.

Hm, it's true it probably would have blown over had bad things not been said.
BUT, I still haven't been convinced that changing thread titles into generic versions of themselves is a good thing, regardless of how compelled we should be to just let it go and carry on. -
Me neither, truth be told. But perhaps if that'd been a reasoned discussion up front it'd have lead to an agreement or compromise and far fewer Nazis, princesses and rage-quits. -
We need thread naming guidelines. We know about the swearing, spelling and grammar. What else are we not allowed? -

I still can't decide whether what's happened is worse than the Mapster incident, in that case he just went a bit nuts and really can't have been thinking clearly.
This time around temporary insanity doesn't even appear on the table.
Me, I think this has been a bloody pointless exercise that's generated bad blood, achieved absolutely nothing and will continue to rumble on until something changes.
