We had planned to run into MC last night to test out everyone’s new specs. Unfortunately when we tried to enter the instance we a got a message: “transfer aborted: instance not found”.

Which was odd as a /who molten showed there were plenty of peeps in there.

So we went off to kill Oxo instead. A bunch of broken mods and apparently broken brains meant a wipe the first time but she went down on our next attempt. Had a panicky moment as the master looter window has changed which made me think that the loot was bugged as all the groups were greyed out. But clicking on the arrow beside the group would open it up and allow loot to be distributed.

Got a run into BWL planned for tonight. That could be messy.

2.0 is a real dog’s dinner of a patch. It seems like they put it on the PTR but didn’t bother to respond to any of the bugs or glitches found within. Easily the most busted patch released so far.

Apparently my guild are running BWL tonight as well. Oh joy.
I really don't fancy it without any working addons. Plus I'm respeccing more feral than a bag of rabid weasels, so that's not going to help the healing much.

I logged my Drood last night, I'm a little gutted because i've lost one of my fave spells (omen of clarity) to a different talent tree.
Though i've gained insect swarm instead.
But i can now summon three trees to fight for me! :D

But i can't play without any mods, it's far too painful. :(

Ran Sunken with my alliance priest last night after a random whisper, I replied saying I'm not healing until I get a working group buttons add on, apparently people are getting that response a lot. I finally agreed to give it a go, but ended up shadowforming the whole place as the paladin wanted to heal. Worked very well actually, he only needed to do the odd heal every now and again on the tank if he took a big hit that VE couldn't recover fast enough, the new talent to decrease the mana cost of mind flay combined with the improved +damage scaling and misery debuff meant I cruised through the place only stopping to drink about 6 times.

There's not one part of that statement that I understand! I really should try and get past level 20 some time. What server you on Fluffy?

Not sure which addons you use but CTmod is updated. CTRA is fucked though, don’t even bother with the update. But that’s only really useful for unit frames and MT windows; we are looking into replacements, I’ll post suggestions here once they have been tested by the job-dodging tester gremlins of the guild.

For boss mods we use La Vendetta, a kick ass mod in all respects.

We’ve also got to make sure that people are not speccing all over the shop. Oxo last night and with 6 priests only two were holy :D

    I use the insomniax recompilation...
I had it set up real nice before the patch, so i'm hoping it won't take too long to get a new set.
I may have to dump it and go back to the vanilla ct_mod for now though.

Its a disaster without some of the mods, Onyxia was Hi-larious all 40 people dead apart from tiny little Khanivor stood there taking the hits about 3 of us healers keeping him up.

Trouble is the prices of the High warlord PVP gear kinda makes raiding dungeons for items completely redundant now when you could pvp for a few hours a day and walk away with some of the best items currently in the game.

You could have a High warlord weapon within a week of very casual evening play.

Still no offhand for my shaman, speced Duel Wielding and yet to try it out. :p Will hopefully have a High warlord Axe before the weekend is out.

    @rodpad - Level 50.

I can't decide whether to go Feral or Balance with my druid. She doesn't have much +spell damage gear so I guess Feral is the way to go.

Aye, while I gotta sniger at those who devoted months of their lives to get high warlord stuff which any nob can casualy saunter into now I'm pissed at Blizzard for making such powerful gear so readily available.

They do seem to have lost the fucking plot on evidence of this patch.

Seems it's a good time to be broadband deprived. Hopefully things will have settled by the time BC is out and I'm back to having broadband access.

Don't overworry, it's only 5 weeks or so before the expansion is released and makes the warlord stuff redundant anyway.

This is going to be a weird, weird month. Almost everyone is much more powerful than before but we all have roughly the same amount of hitpoints, since that's only being changed with the expansion. Hunters are pretty much killing my warlock instantly, but in return mages don't stand a chance against me.

What level are ye now Pike?

And while I can see it's nice for casual players it fucks the game balance up and makes a mockery of the whole idea of reward for effort to give such powerful items to all and sundry. Blizzard have given in too much to casuals imo.

Well, not until january 10, or thereabouts, when I get my broadband back, but then yep.:)

I was actually thinking about joining in on an MC raid, right after getting to 60, but I was adviced not to by one other guildie, since that particular raid was apperantly, a bit, well, "dramatic".

And then again Khanivor, it's a little galling to pop into a battleground where skill means relatively nothing thanks to gear imbalances.

The salt in that wound was not being able to aquire anywhere near comparative gear thanks to an honour system that was horribly skewed by the unemployed.

I'm fairly casual and while I do not lust after epixxx , I do lust after a skill based PvP system rather than a gear based one.

Maybe the mooted match-making system will fix the problem of PvP gear imbalance.

Well I'm very happy with the changes to the pvp rewards. Was not possible for me in the old system for me to get above rank 10 despite pvping my arse off since the honor patch came out. By rights I should have the full lot of epics five times over.

Heaven help those who wanted rank 14, on some servers you needed over 1 million honor points per week for about a month to get it.

Now finally I can add a couple of bits of warlord gear before TBC and then stockpile the rest of my honor and tokens until level 70. It will still take some effort to get the rewards and pve gear is still the best, at least until we reach Arenas.

Oh I think the new honour system is a lot better then the old but I do think the top level equipment should still be rare and difficult to get. As it stands at the moment it's somewhat analogous to Sunday league footballers demanding the same wages and perks as those in the premiership.

The ease they can be had will also quickly shorten their viable life as what advantage is a sword going to give you if 85% of melee you fight have the same weapon? It's like when the ice barbed spear appeared in AV, a weapon which could be had for completing one quest in the BG which had the same stats as a weapon that required lots of tiem and effort to aquire.

WoW isn't a second job for everyone. There's a fun PvP system lurking somewhere in there. Blizz are probably on to something with their matchmaking algorithm. I'm tired of winding up in battlegrounds with tier 2/3 pre-made teams.

So Fluffy, if I was to join you, what archetype would you suggest as fun and soloable and good and stuff? Horde or Alliance?

Tis why I stick to AV. Being a prot tank in a BG is not an orgy of fun unless your in AV where there are mobs to tank and a bit of shouting normaly gets you the heals. Feels good as well to provide the meatshield which ensures your side can kil the boss before the other lot and win. FTW.

The matchmaking is the way to go and another reason why there's no need to make the good gear like candy. If the system works you will be fighting people of similar gear so there's no need to worry about being pwnt by High Warlords.

But to say that the best gear should be available for minimal outlay is not right. Would be like asking for Naxx to be doable by a 10 man team without any buffs. Reward needs to be tied to effort. I have a job and only play wow a few hours a week but put in effort in raids that I think shoudl be rewarded with something that you cannot get without putting in any effort.

Blizzard are doing the pendulum thing and have swung too far in the other direction, away from what was undoubtably an insane PvP grind.

Well, I've tried Shaman, Rogue, Paladin and Warrior, and Warrior was the one I enjoyed most of that lot. I'm still to retain enough interest to get past L20 though, so that speaks volumes.

I want something that I don't have to really think about to much. I'm an MMO spaz.

Warriors do rock. They can do top DPS with the right gear and spec, or else you can go for the tank role which is immensely satisfying. Being the sharp end of a raid of 40 people has been the highlight of the game for me.

The only downside is that of all the classes the warrior consistently gets the short straw from Blizzard.

My biggest issue with alliance is that the entire population seems to be made up off night elf rouges who spend all their time ganking lowbies in SV.
