Registered 16 years agoYeah, its pretty amazing considering that Powermacs/Mac Pros previously weighed as much as a small family car. -

Anyway, I wonder how upgradeable they'll be down the line. I'm guessing not very, unfortunately.
Still, I really want one, if only to take apart and wallow in. -

Registered 16 years agoThe teardown i watched showed it had a bespoke graphics card in it (for the form factor) so no ebuyer off the peg upgrades/replacements for that.
Same with the HDD. The only user replaceable or upgradable thing is the RAM.
There are a billion thunderbolt ports, so they clearly expect you to use those for storage and whatnot. -

Registered 17 years agoWhat's amazing is the number of actual professionals who will go out and buy these overpriced/underspecced toys, rather than listening to world-renowned experts on Internet forums such as this. Obviously a machine that is almost exclusively going to be bought by professionals can't be for them, so what on earth is going on?
It baffles me. -

Registered 16 years agoSeriously, no one gives a shit about anything you have to say. Its all been said a million times before. Save yourself some time and just know we have heard everything you have said or will say in a thousand other threads, you deeply unoriginal twatbastard. -
How do you know he isn't into CAD/modelling/scientific calculations, professional video editing? -

Or because it means it can all be cooled with one fan.
The shape is honestly a genuine innovation. I guarantee the PCs you seem to think are so superior will all be following suit soon enough. -

Judging by your posting history, being a cocksucker in apple threads is going to be one of your 'things', isnt it?

Registered 17 years agoIt's such a shame when these threads come along and it gets reduced to a slanging match. Perhaps the OP should always create a 'teh Macs r shit' thread at the same time to draw the morons away and we can have a sensible chat in the other. -
I like the look of it. I'd probably get one if I could sell my current 13" MacBook Pro without the hassle of fleaBay or the like.
