I currently have both PS4 and Xbox1 consoles on order....but will be cancelling the preorders before launch. The reason being that non of the launch games thrill me to any degree. I also have the best of this generation to complete, gtav, red dead redemption, dishonoured, bios hock infinite and many more. I am looking forward to the Internet meltdown when the new consoles launch and the honest options of gamers once they get their hands on the PS4 and Xbox1. Is anyone else waiting it out? |

Registered 17 years agoI've had a PC for about a year which is arguably more powerful than the next gen consoles, it seems completely pointless buying one straight away.
I'll probably get one when they're £200ish. -
I had a PS4 preordered for a bit, but decided to cancel and wait for a few weeks/months for everything to settle before I decide which console to get first
It would be super tempting to try and get one near launch when the buzz is strong, but would rather wait to see if any problems happen or if I can get a better deal
Xbox one could be mighty tempting when Titanfall comes around, and I'd love to play more DR3... -

if ea hadnt been arseholes and given the pc the proper version of fifa then this would have been easy for me until the ufc game gets closer. -

Said in another thread, there's more indie games I'm looking forward too then anything else at the moment. All of which are on PC.
Doesn't seem to be any reason to buy a console just yet. -

Registered 14 years agoI pre-ordered the PS4 late but still hopeful of getting one for launch day but for me, I like to get new toys asap and then worry about waiting for the games to come out later. For the time being, I imagine Killzone and the PS+ games will keep me occupied for months.
Instead of waiting for a price drop, I'd rather get it now and own a PS4. If a price drop came later, it wouldn't be a huge amount and for the sake of £50 (price drop) I would have owned and played multiple PS4 games. I doubt the console will receive a price drop anytime soon anyway.
The only downfall is reliability. Still got my launch fat PS3, the Xbox did break about 2½ years ago though. But it has a good run. -
I WANT ONE ... I had them both pre-ordered and was favouring the PS4 but I had to cancel them due to our car requiring a new part that was smaller than my hand costing £1800 to be bought and fitted
maybe next year :-/

Registered 16 years agoI want a ps4 and an xbox1 but not until next year. Earliest I'll look will be Easter because any hardware faults will start to become known and I might get a better bundle deal by then. -

Registered 11 years agoI've got a backlog of 20 odd games on 360, and that doesn't include any of the big early 2013 releases like Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider, let alone GTA, so I'll work my way through those before buying anything.
By the time I get around to it (probably this time next year), we'll have a realistic idea as to the differences between the two main machines, and will also have a view as to whether Steambox is a realistic contender for this 'generation' as well, as that's certainly the way I'm leaning at the moment, if they can provide a reasonably priced out of the box way to link a PC up to a front room TV. -
I have an order in for the PS4 and BF4. its weird, atm i'm not excited for it. Once i have it, i be fine, will use it and play games on it, but i;m not feeling it at the moment, and having second thoughts. But if i don't get it, i be tempted every single day to impulse by one.
I don't know. This is just today though. Next week is going to be fun on websties with the american launch, the second week again with the xbox, and then finally the week of reckoning with launch week and all the hype. But probably the same as goodfella. Once i get over the novelty.
I'm not sure if i'm just fazed by the launch or gaming it self. Shrug. -
