My internet connection is a 3G dongle,so all I do on my PS3 is play offline games. I'm getting a PS4 because I prefer the exclusives, online only games don't factor into my decision.
I'm wondering about people who have a good internet connection, play some games but do a lot of internet-tv watching, are games still your primary metric? If you play mostly multi-platform games,do you then go for the console with the UI and secondary features you find most appealing?

I don't know if they will actually be able to follow through on the promise, but if this generation signals the end of the tyranny of loading screens when moving between levels, or when checking what time it is on your console or who's online or how many trophies there are...

Basically, if this console generation has no more waiting, I will declare that the single most profound and significant change to gaming this gen. And I don't regard this statement as hyperbole either.

The auto video capture. Loved the feature on OnLive, being able tap a button and save what you just did to a replay.
In turn the ps4 share button and what comes with it, live streaming and friends uploading their videos. I can see myself using the app a lot when I'm out the house.

I'm also very interested in the pause and resume play. Being able to turn my console off and then hours later pick the game up and start playing right away where I left it.

Hope they negate the loading that @Telepathic.Geometry mentioned and this carries over to the next gen Bethesda games because as good as they are their loading always fucking sucks

Facebook integration. My 360 barely gets turned on nowadays because it doesn't post Facebook status updates automatically.
This is a big issue, I still have a couple of holdouts that haven't defriended me yet, I need a really obtuse barrage of pointless bollocks to get rid of them.

The kinect camera. It just sits there staring at you in this passive aggressive way, quietly whispering "your move".

Reminds me a lot of HAL. Creepier than playing Silent Hill.

As negative as some people are about all the TV stuff on the xbox one, I think we are going to be surprised by how much we like it. In general the whole ability to switch quickly from a game to something else and then back again will end up being one of those "I didn't think I needed this until now" things.

Unless Microsoft are also making something worth watching on TV, then no. It will not be used.

I simply switch between the inputs on my tv when I want to switch between the 360 and the tv, so I can't see it bein that useful. Now no loading on the other hand...

The recording thing. One thing missing on Youtube is millions of videos of fuckwits filming themselves playing games and then talking boring shite over the top. Hopefully this will now be redressed.

The XB1 being an entertainment console instead of a gaming console. A gaming console is great if you're young and living in your family's house but if you're an oldie and plan on putting in the living room it's nice to have one do-it-all unit.

That said, the PS4 and current-gen aren't exactly lacking with BR/DVD players and streaming apps covering most people's needs.
