@uiruki probably just a matter of porting it to a new platform. It's a common problem for games supposed to come out in the middle of a generation change.

Well, I'm quite glad it's delayed. There's a ton of stuff coming out over the end of this year, so a summer release will be perfect and allow me to really get into it. If P4G is anything to go by, I will lose a few weeks of my life to milling about doing S-link stuff and hanging out with folk.

Plus some dungeon crawling mind. I hope there's a lot more variety in those.

I'm now importing the 'Dancing All Night' game as realised it's out in America in less than two weeks. Personaaaaaaa!

Definitely time for another run through Golden as well

Knowing how barren game releases are around summer time, it sounds like a good time to really sink into P5. Assuming Dark Souls 3 still hasn't consumed me at that point, which it most likely will.

I considered importing it but with the Vita being a pain to use multiple region accounts on I fear I will miss out on DLC which will hopefully be worthwhile. Also hoping it is better than some of the first impressions from another thread. First Atlus game I haven't preordered in a long time (Conception being the main other one I recall as it didn't appeal).

As for P5 I can wait. Too much backlog as it is. I need to play through the first games (pre P4G which I did with the 'full' ending) properly first...

I almost didn't too. The main reason for postjng was to warn you in case you hadn't. With the SE having a fair bit of DLC included I imagine there is more. I suppose I can check the JP store for details later to see what they have.

The base game has about 25 songs, with a lot of repeats, so I'd only go out of account region if the story was the main reason for purchase.

I still point the finger at the end of development cycle addition of a PS4 port as the culprit behind the delays.

Even Naughty Dog, had trouble porting from PS3 to PS4 so you can imagine how much of a strain it's been on Persona 5's developers.

At this rate, a physical release for the PS3 version outside Japan is becoming more and more uncertain, which means I can't play since I don't want the PS4 until it's cheap and slim. With no disappearing backwards compatibility this time, there's no advantage to getting a PS4 earlier.

At least Persona 4: DAN is still coming out, that'll make the wait more bearable for most western fans.

Still, if this did came out this year (would have been very more unlikely this year for EU of course), this, Yakuza 5 and MGSV - a wonder trinity of 5's for me it would have been for this year.

I really hope when this eventually comes West to the US and EU they also release the PS3 version here, and not just a PS4 version. One of the reasons they are delaying the launch may be due to them trying to tune up the game for the PS4. I really don't want to have to buy a PS4 just for this!

What about other people, will they go for the PS3 or PS4 version?

PS4, because I have one already, and it should(emphasis on should) run better. Then again, I'd expect it to run well on PS3 given how long it's been in development anyway so... Wish the PS3 version would be released sooner

I'd like a PS3 version, there's not enough games I want to justify buying a PS4 any time soon.

I'll be nervously looking out for what happens to the PS3 sections in GAME post Christmas, if they start having a nutty clear out of everything at rock bottom prices a disc version of Persona 5 becomes more unlikely because the PS3 section might be mostly gone 6 to 9 months later.

Damned PS4 muscling in on the PS3 games.

No question I'll get this on PS4. PS3 is dead to me now, not being harsh but other than the Bioshock Infinite DLC I played in June as I forgot I had it and wanted to finish before retiring the PS3...yeah I haven't turned it on since. But I've been current gen since day one for the first time ever and would never consider slumming it otherwise.

Not that anyone's saying it should happen here (plenty elsewhere are though), but sacrificing a PS4 version in order to get the PS3 version out the door earlier is selfish in the extreme.

It would've been great to have had PS3 ports of P3 and P4, but that never happened. It would be equally shit to have P5 exclusive to last gen consoles, seeing the series once again missing out on this current gen too. It'd also be a dumb move to can the PS3 version in favour of the PS4 one, so a year's delay is the fairest and most realistic outcome imo.

Such a big delay sucks donkey balls, but it's far preferable to the other two scenarios which would each end up permanently screwing over one chunk of Atlus' audience rather than the short term inconvenience of a delay that ends up pleasing both sides.

One of my lical Games fot rid of the new PS3 and 360 shelves about 3 months ago. The other has about 20 titles max on each. Then again Game doesn't even seem to stock anything but 'blockbusters' and 'retail indies' on the PS4 and 3DS so... (a lot of Japanese stuff just doesn't seem to reach the shelves)
