No reason to be put off, itís ace but people just like different things sometimes.
Iíve still not gone back to this, and itís all that feeling you get when youíve really left it too long and know you are going to have to learn how to play it again whilst trying to work out what the hell was going on with the story and all the characters. And it really can be as exhausting as that last sentence was to read.

It is however often worth it when you enjoy a game as much as I did this at release, just put it down one day and then the above set in.

Tl;dr Iíll get around to picking it up again but been saying this for about 18 months now.

What makes all the above worse, as Iíve mentioned in here before. I bought the premium collectors edition which is beautiful but I darenít open the art book until Iíve completed it or at least met all the characters. Which sounds like it will be never at this rate lol.

I decided on Yakuza 0 and started that last night. Will get round to this at some point.

I just wish they'd hurry up with the Western release of P5R. I'm really, really wanting to do a second playthrough of this, but it doesn't make sense to go back to the base game with the fancy, tarted-up version due in the first half of next year.

Yeah same here. My brother completed a second playthrough recently (obtaining the Platinum trophy as well) because he was completely unaware of the existence of P5R!

So I thought I'd cancelled my physical pre-order of P5:Royal (and placed a digital one). Clearly I fucked up the cancellation, because Amazon just delivered it, two days before the street date.

I'd be going "fuck yeah", except work is going crazy right now and no chance of playing it until late this evening at the earliest.

Oof nice! I went digital myself, was going to wait until after FFVII but I don't start my new job until 1st June (which I can work from home for so have assured me it will start!) so have so much time at the moment that I thought fuck it, let's do it. Persona 5 is by some distance my game of the generation so absolutely have to play it, especially considering how good FES and Golden were after the base game.

@Humperfunk Yeah, P5's my game of the generation as well. Witcher 3 takes a respectable second place.

Ah fuck it, I'm now trying to juggle work and P5R. The new intro is pretty epic. And now I'm in the opening section, with Life Will Change sending shivers down my spine.

Ah man! Forgot this was so close! Do I buy it 'again'?

    Yes, I probably will...

Persona 5 was already incredibly polished when it released. This is taking something incredibly polished and making it even more polished.

I'll avoid spoilers, but it doesn't take long for the new content to put in an appearance. Sadly, that's probably all I have time for today.

I'm 6 hours into Persona 5, clueless but loving it. I've decided to jump it and get PS5R and start again.
    Right decision?

@Armoured_Bear Probably, yes, it's the definitive version. If it's like Persona 3: Fes and Persona 4: Golden, the new content will complement rather than replacing the original.

Bought P5 4 years ago and put about 70 hours into the game but haven't played it in the last 8 months. I'm in the Sci Fi dungeon

Plus 4k goodness. Do you notice much difference in visuals so far?

@Armoured_Bear There's an extra layer of polish over everything. It's not a game-changer, but it's sharper and slicker in pretty much every respect.

Probably get £50 of credit from the usual sources for £42 or less. Well, if this lockdown is likely to be longer than three weeks...what else am I going to do? Apart from all the things I should be doing instead.

Thanks for the tip, 41.85 from Shopto.

Doesn't seem any point in getting the Deluxe version of P5R...

I am debating whether to get this or Disaster Report 4 (which may end up harder to find later physically) with my birthday money.

I enjoyed the main game and finished it with over a hundred hours but will I play this straight away. Then again I usually preorder Atlus Rpgs as my main company to support...

Not getting the fat LE this time. I wonder how different the art book is this time around but not spending 80 quid to find out (and with the mask thing it is going to be big).

I skipped the remake of TMS #FE as I gather it doesn't have too much new content (and again completed it with a big game time on launch too).

Interesting eurogamer review there. It is literally the oy (semi) negative review I have seen of royal. Every other review says it adds massively to the game.

Yeah, I read that after buying it last night and was a little concerned. Gone from Essential to Meh in the EG review system.
  • Deleted user 31 March 2020 12:30:33
I have to say that the person that reviewed it seems to rarely hold the same opinion as me so I'm still looking forward to this.

EG's reviews can safely be ignored these days, particularly of (non-Nintendo) Japanese games. It's reviewing very well elsewhere.

I kind of get some of the critcism though. Unlike P3P and P4G, this has been released on the same platform, so asking people to pay the full price again when it could have just been a DLC like the FF15 Royal Edition makes it somewhat bitter overall.
