Have to say thats a somewhat surprising setlist for a festival, the quieter tracks i can imagine not working very well at that kind of event.. glad i didnt go now. |

That's good news, I had a sinking feeling he was going to wind it up. I wonder what the new non-nin project will become? -

Registered 11 years agoWell he's planning on making a game with Rob Sherridan isn't he?
Anyone seen the This One Is On Us DVD that was made, good effort from a lot of people there. It's really touching the respect the NIN community has for him. Glad that tour has been documented, amazing set (lights).
Edit: Might as well link it, it's really worth the download.......... link -
Well, now NIN is How To Destroy Angels with his stunningly hot wife (really, really is) as vocalist, I welcome our new electronic depressomusic overlords.
New song streaming on Pitchfork. Suprise suprise, it sounds like NIN's smoother moments. Noice. -
It sounds decent, not up with the best NIN stuff but good nonetheless. -

Registered 12 years agoIt's sounds just like Right Where It Belongs from With Teeth but slower with female vocals. Has the same rise and fall in the vocal side and the exact same piano sound with similar melody. I was kinda expecting something fresh where this was just a bit obvious.
He used to change sound each album, but The Slip was just WT 2.0 and this sounds like WT3.0 -
I think it stands up pretty well to NIN. But then I liked With Teeth as much as their other stuff, for different reasons - it's a dang good electronic pop album.
Although dragging it back even further I'd say those chord changes are mint Reznor hangovers, and not just related to WT. The Slip WT 2.0 though? Not sure I can agree with that... -

Registered 12 years agoTo be honest I've only run TS twice, I don't think much of it. W_T can be alright on a good day, but I live and die by The Fragile and Still. -

The Fragile is pure awesome. In fact I'm now going to put it on purely because you mentioned it.

Curious to see how this "new" band turns out. I reckon it'll be perfect late night listening.
@MS - listening whilst spanking the plank that is. /whistles -

The Slip was never WT 2.0, not in a million years. That's a silly thing to say.
I really like the new song, sounds like downbeat NiN with female vocals. All good, may they continue.
As for WT itself - I LOVE some songs (All the Love, You Know What...?, Only, Besides You In Time, Right Where it Belongs v.2), but many others leave me cold. -
It's a new band. That sounds like NiN, so far. ;p -

Registered 13 years agoLiking that track, nice and atmospheric. As others have said, puts me in mind of NIN's softer side. It reminds me a little of a cross between The Great Below and A Warm Place. -

Registered 15 years agoCool, NiN is dead! Long live NiN!
( with a girly vocalist that sounds a little softer than when trent does the whispery thing! )
