In my case I did it for sentimental reasons. I used to listen to Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral with a friend in high-school a lot, and we never got to go see NIN together - he moved to America a decade back.

He fights with depression and has always said he feels he relates to Sanctified in some way. Filming it was for him - my shout out to him.

So sorry if filming it offends your sensibilities in some way, but shove it up your arse :)

Everyones got a reason, bro. Still doesnt change the fact that you made the poor fucker behind you watch sanctified through a shitty 4 inch screen.

The poor fucker behind me couldn't see anyway, I'm about 6'4" in my boots :D

And if he can't see the show past a "shitty 4 inch screen" held at my eye level then I think they've got more issues than my filming. It happens at shows, and as long as you're not stood there filming the entire performance it's OK. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, they need to get over it.

To be honest, one of the reasons I didnt take any video was because I was pretty sure my phone just wouldnt be able to cope with the total assault of the lighting rig.

It would have been a bad time to find out you have epilepsy.

I've seen a few performers are directly addressing the plague of phone douches by saying to the crowd at the start of the show "OK, if you want to take a picture, do it during this one song -- and then put your phone away for the rest of the gig". Seems to work.

And it was amazing as per usual.

Not the best performance I've seen from them but only because I marginally preferred some of the other shows for one reason or another (e.g. the stage was smaller than some previous gigs so they had slightly less impressive background effects) Still had a whale of a time either way.

The only reason people record it on their phones is not for sentimental reasons, or for keeps sake, it's to show off on Facebook and shit to prove that they were there, just take a photo of your tickets, oh no but that's not enough proof is it.

    Set of cunts.

    21. Do love me some Fincher and Reznor though.

    19. The Microwave really does sound the intro of a NIN song, probably because its two noises happen to be in harmonic relation.

I like NIN, but their latest album Hesitation Marks was somewhat lacking. Other than Came Back Haunted, i've yet to really like another track.

The album With_Teeth, which divides many fans, I love all of it. Their best album to date.
NIN have never really been amazing lyrically but the latest album had so many cringe moments I can't stand to listen to it.

Other than Everything, I really like HM. It's got some good groove.

Think the album is good, really like the way the sound is mixed. That being said, All Time Low is crap and probably my least favorite NIN of all time(like the title suggest...) After listening to the album a few times I still feel like it loses something one third in(due to Everything and All Time Low, Disappointed is okay but feels slightly off when it comes to the flow of the album). The beginning of the album is strong and it ends well(and it keeps a certain ambience throughout the album.

Songs like Disappointed reminds me of Atoms for peace (both the song from the album eraser and the side project)

I like HM. The later stuff feels a bit more mature than The Fragile etc, which I also like but it is a bit too angsty at points.

I think Year Zero is some of the best work Trent has done.

It helps that it had a political theme throughout which is quite different from what has gone before and since.

In terms of what the lyrics say NIN are certainly up there imo. Even if the words taken in isolation can be a bit shit. If that makes sense.

The downward spiral is one of if not the best concept album I've listened to

Ridiculously accurate summation of the Trent Reznor canon: http://youtu.be/4xg-Wk2DEXs

Not having it that his lyrics are some of the best in the business.
