A girlfriend/wife who is a burden and cannot be trusted is no good. You've already dumped her, so my advice would be to stay away from her. You're obviously the type that likes to take care of people, so that is how she'll come at you. She made a mistake, and she regrets it, and she's oh so tormented and whatnot...

Just take a deep man breath, and let it go.

Here's the patented TG 5 step plan:

1. Stay away from her physically. Don't go to her, don't let her come to you. (For example, "oh can I go and collect some of my stuff... please?" TRAP!)
2. Stay away from her electronically. No phone-calls or messages. No facebook.
3. Fill your life up with stuff. Friends, new hobbies, work, anything will do. Fill in the gaps in your life with new shit, until it grows naturally into place.
4. Improve yourself. Get down the gym, read a few books, try to get promoted, learn a language... Doesn't matter, but you need to move forward.
5. Stop obsessing over this as soon as you're mentally capable, and focus on not-this and not-her and not-this-thread...

That really sucks, sorry to hear that. In my experience, if you take them back after something like that, they end up thinking less of you for doing so and are then pretty likely to do it again (and more importantly, you may well end up thinking less of yourself). Still, every situation is different.
