Registered 15 years agoIs it retelling the game story or is it extra stuff? Then again I never really searched out the prequel film they stuck in the LE...
I have debated Funimation for Danganronpa 3. This could give me another reason to look. Is everything on the free adsupported version like on Crunchyroll (with a week delay for new stuff) or do you need the subs sub? -

Registered 16 years ago@One_Vurfed_Gwrx The first few episodes are a very straight retelling of the early bits of the game. Obviously, there's more of an emphasis on the dialogue scenes than on random encounters, but otherwise, it's a fairly direct (but very pretty) adaptation to that point. The most recent episode, however, switches to the cast of Tales of Berseria, which apparently takes place in the same universe as Zestiria, so there is certainly material that isn't in the game.
Edit: I have a Funimation sub myself, but I believe this should be available via the free version a week later.

Registered 12 years agoYeah, they said a long while back that Berseria is set in the same world, though somewhere in the distant past. Pretty sure Edna's brother is part of the Berseria cast.
Also, for clarity: the OVA that came with the LE is a straight retelling of the opening of the game, up to Sorey, Mikleo and Alisha leaving the village, rather than a prequel. -

Registered 15 years agoSo the OVA was pretty pointless then? Zestiria was the first PS3 Tales L.E. that I skipped after more of the usual getting charged more for less compared to the US. I just got a discounted day1 edition for that one. -
Yeah. It was a nice extra, but it was basically identical to the game's opening.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the Zestiria LE myself. I went for it because I always do, but I think I'll probably pass on any Berseria LE.
