Yeah, you'd think hand-drawing the computery bits would be MORE expensive than using a computer? |

I know; that's why I put CGI in quotes... Sheesh; everyone's having a go at me today.
All of the HHG graphics were hand-drawn.

Registered 20 years agoI reckon if we lined up all the tightly puckered arseholes in this thread into an array we could bring about the implosion of the entire universe.
I'd say wait till the film is out and has been seen before forming a definitive opinion. -

Registered 18 years agoI loved the books and to me the trailer looked OK.
Give it a chance - from that interview the director seemed terrified of upsetting HH fans.
Martin Freeman looks right for the lead role, and trailers since the dawn of time have jazzed up proceedings somewhat. What d'you think they're gonna do? Make the trailer as slow-paced as possible so as to only appeal to hardcore HH fans? Or try to *gasp* drag in some casual observers who may think 'Ooh that looks OK, I'll go and see it'?
If you decide you don't like it without even seeing it, then, that's up to you. Myself, I'll see it before I get all hissy. -
That is fucking brilliant! I can't help but think that showing this as the first trailer at the cinema will make everyone see the following trailers very differently, seeing how they follow the conventions it mentions. I love the rock music bit near the end
Stephen Fry should narrate everything.

That has just superceded Comedian as my favourite trailer ever!
Thanks to both of them, I'll never see trailers the same way again. After seeing the Comedian one, I never heard 'voice over man' the same way again, now HHGttG has taken the piss out of the whole package. -

A NEW TRAILER!!!! \o/
Linky
Stephen Fry now narrates (and takes the mickey out of the last trailer voice) and you hear Marvin speaking too.gif)
Does anybody have a downloadable version of that that isn't quicktime so I can put it on my C500? (for some reason some quicktime movies get converted without sound, and that applies to all quicktime movies trailers as they all come from apple.com/trailers, which are all affected) -

Studios are probably afraid that they won't be able to brainwash people into seeing blockbusters once they've seen that ad. -

Registered 19 years agoOkay; something that came out in conversation this weekend:
If Ford chose the name 'Ford Prefect' when he first came to Earth, why is it that Zaphod calls him by this name when they meet on the bridge of the HoG?
I've been a Hitchhiker for almost 25 years and never noticed that... -
