Do you find Zac Effron attractive?

I really don't get the hate for Cruise by a lot of folk.
Zac is molten diamond compared to Tom. Even back at his peak Tom wasn't all that. I still think he's a good actor btw. Ugly and stupid but good.

Unfortunately he's worn out in more ways than one so I prefer not having him in films.

Are you saying Zac Effron isn't hot?

I can honestly, hand on heart say that whenever I watch a Cruise movie nowadays, I know exactly what I'm getting: some decent action, some quips, maybe a twist or two, nothing mindblowing in terms of plot or narrative. He pretty much always delivers. Might be very 'popcorn'-y, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Same as CosmicFuzz, you know what you're getting. Solid reliable action stuff. I don't mind any of the Cruise movies I've watched, they don't set the world alight by any means. Jack Reacher was a bit of a let down but that was clearly a massive casting fail from the get go.

Obviously he's getting on a bit now though so he should think about hanging up his action spurs. Then again, look at Liam Neeson.

Maybe it's because he's the spitting image of me when I was 23, albeit with more facial hair.

    Tom Hardy? Really.
Plain as vanilla. and not the fancy kind with little black dots in it. Cheap ass family pack vanilla at the buy&save.

Heh, don't normally notice it but there was a blatant audio cut at 1:55 in that trailer. 'They want to [total change in tone of voice] conquer the world'

Bit distracting. Film looks fun though.

A friend of mine who had an 8-track back in the day say that the original voice over was
They want to destroy our planet.

Not sure why they changed it.

First reviews coming out for this sound mostly positive, it's sitting at 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

    From io9

I am sick and tired of watching Tom Cruise punching bad guys and riding a motorcycle. Sick of it. The latest crop of Cruise films have all been some sort of meandering variation of this. Well, NOT ANYMORE. Edge of Tomorrow is delivering quality, Jerry Maguire-level Cruise. A lot of this is due to the fact that the character Cruise is playing (Cage) is a coward, but a smart coward.
    Also, no shakycam action.

I'm all over this. Love a bit of Cruise action.

Also, Tom Hardy is sex on legs. hands off.

I don't give a single shit about his private life, tbh. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of (most of) his films.

Good review, but I hope the 'day resetting' malarkey is explained quite rapidly in the movie, or else that review gave away the explanation for how it's happening with no warning of whopping spoilers. (It said mild spoilers, MILD!!) :/

The trailer gave away the entire plot. That review was restrained in comparison.

The happy thought of watching Tom Cruise get shot and die repeatedly every few minutes for 2 hours, is ALMOST enough to make this an attractive proposition.

I wish Cruise would go back to doing non-action films, he's made several which are really good and shows he actually is a pretty good actor when he wants to be.

He seems to be taking the Bruce Willis route of taking the easy option and shooting shit.

On the basis that this thread seems to already have a lot of gay shit, Emily Blunt, omg.

I'd love to suck her cock.

Warner Bros. has essentially changed the title of movie for its Blu-Ray release to “Live. Die. Repeat.”, not to confuses everyone even more, shame really as its a great film.

Wasn't that the original name of the film? Seems like an odd change.

Thought it was pretty bog standard with a lame ending, personally. Preferred Oblivion.

No it was All You Need Is Kill, which was great too :)

They haven't changed it's name, although they have made the tagline fucking huge compared to the actual title.

Live. Die. Repeat: Edge of Tommorow

It was the other way around before.

@Aargh, edge of tomorrow was originally called All You Need Is Kill; the same as the manga it was based on.

Live Die Repeat has never been part of it's title and it hasn't changed it's name now.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1631867/

I know it changed from All You Need Is Kill, that's because that's a shit name.
