I had a old white 360 stashed on top of a wardrobe in a shopping bag, vertically for about a year it stood there no problem. Forgot all about it. Next to this wardrobe was my table for my TV and my new PS4. So I set up the PS4, 24 hours later the 360 decides to fall 4ft off the wardrobe directly onto my new shiny PS4. I watched as it came crashing down, and heard a large thud and a crack as my PS4 took the full impact of this heavy old bastard, after about ten seconds I came out of the shock I was in and surveyed the damage, the top half of my PS4 has been smashed off with a large dent in it. I found out later this actually can be removed to replace the hard drive, so I was able to replace that, but there is a deep gash in the plastic that looks...bad. What worries me is the damage done inside, I was amazed that the PS4 actually works, and I have been playing it for a few days no problem. But it took a awful hard wallop, if I tell Sony they will just say I done the damage and must pay for a replacement, so I guess I will just have to cross my fingers and hope this thing doesn't die on me shortly. I find it ironic that it was a 360 that fell on my new PS4, maybe I made one to many Xbone jokes or something. I am pretty gutted as I waited all fucking year for this thing and within 24 hours it's already been battered and could drop dead at any moment. Has anyone else had any accidents with consoles?. It's a sickner, a damn shame...fucking Xbox, what are the fucking odds. |

It'san unfortunate tragedy. -
The only hope I have that the console will be ok is that under the plastic top is a metal plate, but it's not very thick, and I don't know if it's able to protect the motherboard, which is right under it, from a heavy impact like that. I fear it has damaged the soldering or something... I guess I will just have to wait and see. I had a weight lifting bar drop on my SNES many years ago and that smashed the entire console to pieces. And that is still working, but they don't make consoles like that anymore. -

Shoddy quality from Sony, you would think they would test for this sort of thing. -

Think how much bad luck you just got rid of in one go, probably a decades worth.
Anyway, for what its worth, my ps2 fell from shoulder height and the tray has to be nudged to help it close. That was about 8 years ago and its still going strong.
Yeah my slim PS2 had a 1.5 meter fall too.
One day my mother was doing vacuum cleaning, the cleaner gets stuck in the controllers wire and pulls the console down. The console hit the ceramic floor face down, but it's just as fine as the first day.
