52 Games in 52 Weeks! Page 8

    @FanBoysSuck

Yeah, it's pretty bad. It's also a rolling year and not a calendar year and being genuinely ill with a doctor's note doesn't get you out of being penalised.

@zoolophage I'm surprised that's even legal (disciplinary for certified short term sick time). I hope you're better now anyway.

Don't think employers have a duty to pay contractual sick pay at all, so long as they offer statutory sick pay. Not sure though.

Although I thought you had to be off work for more than 3 days to qualify for SSP, not sure if your employer is meant to compensate you for those 3 days if you can't work.

Nothing worse than an employer who squeezes ever last drop of Scrooge from legislation.

There have been cases of people not being off for 10 years but then getting sick and being off for 6 days and then being disciplined. Disgraceful.

Anyway, enough of my woes. I'm going to buy a Vita at lunch time to cheer myself up :D

Do it! Make sure you get Persona 4 Golden with it, it's the best game in the platform IMO. I hope you enjoy your Vita as much as I do, mine's been played every day for a year and a half now.

@zoolophage your company seriously sucks on the sickness front. Do they expect everyone to pull sickies?

What happens if you come down with something serious and end up in hospital for a month or two? Some of my colleagues have been off for nearly a year at a time after going to places like Indonesia and Trinidad on business trips.

I think you only get SSP for 28 weeks. No idea what happens after that though!

Anyway this weeks game was Left Behind. Also after playing Toukiden some more I am now convinced I am in the post game. So I am counting that too.

Polished off Sly 3 this week bringing me up to 11 completed, and started South Park: SoT. Still behind the total but getting a bit closer to the target.

Just bought a Vita with sports pack and a 12 month psn subscription. Was looking at buying a new pc but reckon this will serve me better. Looking forward to playing some indie games in the coming weeks.

Nice one! I bloody love my vita.
  • Deleted user 11 April 2014 15:00:55
We have a rather straight forward policy, but it is all at 'the managers choice'. Just to allow for wiggle room in case of long term good and bad.

But hey in my company it's impossible to get fired, we had a fork lift driver turn up to work drunk the other day. He got paid (yes paid) suspension for two weeks.

Anywho for next week's game of 52 iam thinking Fez, it's been sat in my steam library for a year and no once loaded.

    Games I've finished this year:

    Persona 4 Golden
    Guacamelee
    Tearaway
    Witcher 2
    Metal Gear Rising
    Devil May Cry
    Remember Me
    Xcom Enemy Unknown
    Tales of Xillia
    Ni No Kuni
    Brothers
    Killzone Mercenary
    Sly 4

Games I've spent a few hours on and realised they're not for me:

    Don't Starve
    Saints Row The Third
    Outlast
    The Puppeteer

    Games I'm currently playing:

    Hotline Miami
Stealth Inc. A Clone in the Dark
    Infamous Second Son

So that's me at 13 games completed and 4 games tried and switched off for a total of 17 games.

    What week we at?

    Week 16

I've mostly been playing Spelunky and trying out a few other Vita games since I bought a Vita a few days ago. This week I'll be playing Nintendo Pocket Football Club and probably more Spelunky.

    Finished Fez this week.

Picked up OlliOlli, Eufloria HD and Wolf Among Us in the PSN sale. Played bits of all of them, really surprised by how long I have spent on Eufloria already.

Finished Infamous Second Son (100%'d it, too!) this week, so that's me up to 14 games completed and 4 games tried out for a total of 18 games. This is week 17 so doing well.

Got AC4 up next, nearly finished Hotline Miami too. Still got my backlog glaring at me but doing well. Far Cry 3, Metro Last Light (which I have zero inclination to even start, despite enjoying the first one), Joe Danger 2 and Lara Croft GoL will have to be played at some point.

Finished inFamous last night, so up to 20 for the year. On 81%, will 100% it in the coming days.

Also started Link Between Worlds, about 3 hours into that.

I need to commit to something like this instead of the 'self imposed ban on buying new games' farce ;-)

So far this year has been an utter disaster though. Mario 3D World and Lego City Undercover on WiiU and that's it. No PS3, no Vita, no 3DS games finished. Shocking.

Oh, and Cosmic - I'm playing Last Light after loving 2033, and although I'm slowing progressing it's nowhere near the game that the predecessor was sadly. Runs like an absolute dog at times on PS3 too.

@Murbal Ah that's a shame! It's been sitting on my PS3 ever since it was on plus, but I've not been able to force myself to try it yet. Might just not bother now...
  • Deleted user 23 April 2014 11:18:01
    @Murbal

In terms of the challenge all you need to do is play a new or unplayed game every week. Whether you abandon or complete it is up to you. Some people are aiming to complete 52 in 52 and others like myself are using it as a way to decide which games to bin/trade/file as abandoned. We usually update progress every Friday but you can of course feedback any time. Feel free to adjust any and all rules to suit your own situation.

Did Little Inferno last week and am about to give in on Fez (80%ish in, frustrated by map and frequent backtracking). Am behind on games but can pull a few bundle shorties out to catch up soon enough

80% into Fez is around 170% in on its internal percentage.

Finished Eufloria and the first 3 episodes of Wolf Amongst Us.
  • Deleted user 23 April 2014 21:15:41
@PazJohnMitch I'm talking 80% on the counter the game gives you, I know it goes much further than that

Still part genius, part tedious loadscreen-fest though :-)

Yeah the loading is annoying. One rather bumpy train ride pretty much consisted of going through warp gates repeatedly. Everytime one level loaded a bump sent me back through the warp gate.

37 games completed. Started to the moon this week which I will probably find some time to finish it by weeks end.

Slowing down my gaming as exams are coming up but I should be able to get to 52 games finished by end of year. I know thats not quite the task but I hate not finishing games.

    Week 17

Mostly been playing Nintendo Pocket Football Club this week. It's a real grower. Next week I'll definitely be playing Mario Golf.
