Still at 28. Although very close to finishing Wolfenstein (great, great game). So that'll definitely be done for next week. After having played the first few levels of Trine 2, I have zero inclination to go back to it, but I'll give it another go and see if it grabs me. If not, chucked. Got some handheld games on the way, and away on holiday next month for a week to visit family so will hopefully finish one of them off at least too. |

Registered 14 years agoSince my last post (2 weeks ago) I have completed:
Tomb Raider Anniversary
The Walking Dead Season 2: Episodes 1-3
The Wolf Among Us Season 1: Episodes 4-5
Injustice Gods Among Us
The Room
But the game I have played the most is:
Destiny Beta
I have finished the available missions and reached the abilities cap. -
Week 31
Back to gaming. Played some Harvest Moon and revisited a couple of steam games. HM is a keeper. -

Registered 17 years agoProgress has just died the last two months. All I've played is a bit of Forza 5.
I will be playing MGS V GZ this week, and starting TLoU Remastered. And probably more Forza 5. -

Registered 13 years agoStarted and finished Castlevania: LoS - MoF HD FHUTA OMGWTFBBQ this week which was pretty enjoyable. I also started Muramasa Rebirth and it seems alright although I have barely any idea what's going on half the time.
Going to try and hit the Borderlands 2 DLC this week to knock out a few quick completions.

Registered 12 years agoFlipping heck I just realised I've not posted anything in 5 weeks
Over that period I have finished Conception 2, started and finished both Watch_Dogs and Demon Gaze as well as start Blood Dragon, Rogue Legacy and new run of Dark Souls 2.
Oh and I got the Dark Souls 2 DLC out of the way and did a review for it.
Not too bad but also too many new games on that list. I'm not sure I have the patients to get through Blood Dragon after having just done another open world ubi game. They're all so similar. I installed Black List last night, hopefully that'll be something a bit different. If it starts to feel samey I'll just start on Ghost Warrior 2. -

Week 32
Bit better this week. Bought Eidolon on Steam (binned it already) and started playing Sayonara Umihara Kawase on 3DS. What a hard game, took me 54 tries to pass the 4th level. -

Registered 14 years agoRhythm Thief and Broken Sword 5 this week.
Rhythm Thief was really hard in places but very charming.
Enjoyed BS5 but like all point and click games a few puzzles where quite obtuse. It did a much better job of giving the player enough information than older games. It then meant the few places it did not grated a little. -

Registered 13 years agoStarted the Pirate's Booty DLC on Borderlands 2 but haven't got very far, every quest seems to be a war of attrition against enemies a couple of levels higher than me.
Still plugging away at SSF4AE and Muramasa Rebirth sporadically but not made much progress on either.
The recent Vita additions to PS+ should let me get a few quick and easy completions this week.

For week 32 I literally just played Rogue Legacy. Bloody great fun!
This week I finished it as well as completing all of Splinter Cell Blacklist. I think I'm officially done with Ubisoft games for the next year. They're all the same!
I started Ghost Warrior 2 last night but after two hours trying to get the PC version to work properly I couldn't be bothered after the first mission. Not too bad so far but utterly generic. I also started Olli Olli in bed which is rather good fun. The controls could do with some tightening though, tricks only seemed to register half the time.
I'm probably going to stick to small stuff until Metro redux and Destiny hit. Unless I get another JRPG urge!

Registered 13 years agoSo I finished the Pirate's Booty and Campaign of Carnage DLC for Borderlands 2 and started the Tiny Tina one. Also gave Metrico a go but got a bit stuck on the level where you need to tilt the Vita and didn't fancy looking like a weirdo on the commute by moving the handheld all over the place on the tube.

Halfway through Splinter Cell Conviction, so hoping to finish that this week. Also got Fire Emblem on 3DS waiting for me. -

Indeed. Playing games you enjoy is the obvious one. I tried to start a new game each week at the start of the year but decided it was a terrible way to go through my backlog as I didn't enjoy just dipping into games

Been on holiday so no gaming for me this week. -
Week 34
Been checking and binning a few games in my Steam collection. Installed and played a bit of Left for Dead 2 after leaving it unplayed for who knows how many years. This has been a useful experiment for me and has confirmed that gaming has slipped well down my list of hobbies/interests. I could probably bin 95% of titles in my Steam collection. Perhaps my ideal gaming situation would be to find half a dozen games across genres that I really, really like and devote myself to exploring all aspects of them. No more playing good but uninspiring, seen it all before a hundred times over type of games.
I'm quite looking forward to a various future Nintendo releases, and as few and far between as they are, they're more than enough for me. So I'm probably done with 52 in 52, have seen and played enough to start thinking about my future gaming priorities/needs. -

I'm still at 30. Halfway through Blacklist, which I'm still enjoying quite a bit. Story is garbage, but the missions are decent enough. Picked up Wolf Among Us for a fiver in summer sale on PSN, so looking forward to getting into that once I'm done. Plus, five games in one!

I guess what I need is to cover my pc gaming bases are:
An economic/builder sim game
A turn based strategy game
A wargame (looking at Unity of Command as mentioned in another thread)
A grand strategy game (EUIV etc.)
A tower defence game (Defence Grid)
A bunch of adventures (have a good pile on steam)
An rpg -

Registered 12 years agoThis week I've been through:-
Luftrausers: I'm not sure you can technically finish it but I've had my fill of trying to spawn a blimp to make anymore progress.
OlliOlli: fun but yet again had my fill, the controls piss me off too much).
Project Diva F: Love this, great for killing 5 minutes.
Dark Souls 2: Almost finished my no shield glass cannon magic build run. Fun but raged classes are not really for me.
Aletier Meruru plus: Just getting to the end of the rather long tutorial. Nice an chilled out so far, I can see this being my new commute game as it's relaxing with tons of charm.
So pretty successful week all in all! -

HOW DO I COMPLETE DOTA 2?!
I've been stuck on this from week 1 and there's no end in sight ;( -
Week 35
I'm no longer doing the challenge to try something new each week. Now I'm looking at my game collection with an eye towards working out what are my favourite games and fairly mercilessly binning games that I will probably never realistically have the time to play or get the most out of. I don't even need to try a lot of them to know they're bin material.
So, it's goodbye to all of the Total War games and a good chunk of decent but uninspiring indie games. Looks like my focus is narrowing towards playing grand strategy, turn based strategy and adventure games. The 'hide from collection' button has been very useful on steam the last few days. I added Civ V complete collection and some new Zen pinball tables to my collection as these are exactly the kinds of games I want to be playing (and actually make time to play).
I'll be focusing on Wii U/3ds and pc games from now on. Need to get a new pc as my laptop runs too hot/whiny to enjoy playing some pc games now. Will likely buy a new one after Xmas. -
Finished lots of short games this week to try and catch up, the Hammerlock DLC on Borderlands, Metrico, and the last episode of TWD season 2. Also made a start on I Am Alive which I hated at first but I'm warming to so will hopefully finish off this coming week.
