Woo. Exciting stuff.
I wonder if they'll build it into PS+ somehow. -

They've done well to keep this quiet. They must have been planning this since they bought Gaikai. Before even. -

Wasn't Sony meant to be launching this service in the first quarter?

Yeah but did anyone honestly expect them to deliver something as promising so soon? I was expecting delay after delay. We will see soon though hopefully -

This sounds good, but I wonder about the cost and how many games it will feature... -

This sounds great and everything but I've got a feeling Sony won't be setting up servers at the end of the street for everyone. I'm staying cautiously optimistic on this one. -

It's all done via remote servers as a rental/subscription service like NetFlix

How?
Even assuming it released in the UK tomorrow, why would I be happy to pay a perpetual subscription for things I already physically own and have hardware that is powerful enough to freely emulate a Ps3 locally; called a Ps3 or PS4?
Given how creepy Andy House looks and sounds when he's certainly not “wowing” me, I'm seriously considering trading both my PS4 and Vita, and just stick with the PS3/WiiU and buying a 3DS. The hardware side of Sony's business is still amazing, but the people and strategy behind the incompatible peripherals/hardware decisions, publishing, subscription and network aspect of Ps4 gaming is everything I loathed about Sega's Dreamcast and Microsoft's Xbox. And I hate the new pad compared to the DS3. I'm pretty sure they've already lost me as a customer, I'm probably just waiting for something else to make me act on that feeling. -

It'll be the same as it was. Fine for those who don't really notice lag / compression, annoying for those that do. -

Registered 15 years agoSo what are peoples cost estimations on this? Free to PS+ users to stream any PS1/2/3 game? A monthly sub ala Netflix? Or an additional annual cost, another £40 say? -
@mrpon - suggestion is it'll be a rental model or subscription one. Say £8 a month, unlimited access? £4 to rent a game?
I don't think Sony'll directly link it to PS+, but I wonder if Plus subscribers will get a discount...?
