Anyone catch this last night? Great to see reeves and mortimer on tv again, the first episode tickled me a lot. Basically a show to allow them to run riot, and it didn't for me disappoint. |

Registered 16 years agoYeah, I thought it was pretty good. It looked like it was edited by a drunk student and they appeared to have done only one take of everything, but I lold many times.
Very rough around the edges, almost deliberately so, but very funny. Matt Berry as beef totally stole the show. -
Yeah matt berry was great. Woodpecker?
I just love the delivery of the gags, even the rubbish were ones were funny because of the way they are told. The movies one in particular. But yeah, deffo be tuning in next week. -
Saw the first 10 minutes or so but had to pop out, seemed pretty decent, but I've always been a sap for Vic and Bob's humour. Will watch the rest tonight on iplayer. -

It is. I been thinking about it all week
I read the synoposis for the next episode in the tv guide today, made me laugh. Vic and Bob and left in charge of there next door neighbour meat pie. Just know it's going to be great. -

Registered 13 years agoActual tears of laughter. I know it's just taking Morecambe and Wise silliness to a surreal extreme but they just make me smile so much. I have no idea how they ever got this commissioned but I am so glad they did.
Matt Berry is an excellent 3rd leg. The neighbour (Julie?) is marvellously deranged rough.
Edit: ha, I meant to say deranged though, but deranged rough works as well.

Registered 8 years agoJust watched this today on iPlayer & didn't stop laughing for the entire thing.
I love how Vic & Bob have kept a certain style over the years even though it's not been backed by every channel or won them awards, they just keep at what they find funny and entertain us.
Out of interest how many of the people who've watched it are from the south? Always got the feeling "southeners" didn't get them back when they did Shooting Stars. -

Registered 9 years agoI don't get why geographical location would make you find liking a comedy more or less, I love all kinds of comedy no matter where the comedy comes from location wise, what a strange question. -

Registered 8 years agoI wasn't suggesting everyone from the south wouldn't get it I'm merely basing it on opinions of people I know throughout the country is all and wondered if it was the case.
I definitely think comedy can be area specific sometimes. Chubby Brown for example seems to get a lot of hate in Manchester and London. -

Registered 8 years agoI've been trying to watch this on iPlayer abroad but its having trouble streaming it properly.
As a kid I loved Smell of R&M and all their tv shows, I'll never forget the stars in their eyes skit or masterchef.
I really think their humor taps into the childish part of my humor that refuses to go away, I even liked some of the Fosters Funnies they did, like Charity Peter.
Anyway it looks right up my street, and Vic still throws himself about some for an old fella! -

And yes, they're popular in the south - they started out working the London circuit. It's Peter Kaye we don't get.

Registered 16 years agoThe first episode really was rather amusing indeed, I'm looking forward to tonight.
I was introduced to them with the second series of Big Night Out when I was ten, so they're largely responsible for the terrible mind confusion of the ensuing years. -

Registered 20 years agoI thought it was appalling with a huge plot hole, no TV station would show Conan the Barbarian in the afternoon.
Not really, I thought it was great although the Conan point does stand! -
