been trying to get this trophy and put so much time into it. i know a lot of it is based on luck but if any one could share locations on any of the 3 things needed that would be very helpful

i found the white whale! not sure if i found a chest as well, so also wondering is there a way to check to see what i have found so far???

You should be able to check your current progress so far in the Abstergo Challenges - it won't keep a full count, but there are challenges for each of them so you'll know you've got the 3 required.

As for finding them, the threads on AC Initiates are pretty good. Thankfully you've put this in the PS4 section, so I advise keeping an eye on this thread:

Just go where they say when they pop up and you should be sorted

I got this by magic a few hours in and I have absolutely no idea how or why. I don't bother with online or sharing or anything like that in any game and AC4 was no different.

Not to rub it in or owt.

Can't even try it as Uplay won't work for me (>100 on friends list). So can't get the trophy and can't connect the app either.
