I've seen lots of forumites waxing lyrical about a certain 'SPV C500' phone in a few threads, and until recently I had no idea what phone they were on about until I discovered that the abovementioned phone is actually called the 'i-mate SP3' over here, and it's available as a free upgrade on my current contract. So, I did some research but couldn't find any decent reviews on it, and all I've seen is 'offical' spec-sheets which don't really give you too much insight into any weak/strong points of the phone. So what I'd like is some feedback from anyone who has one of these (battery life, quality of screen, useful features, ease of use, etc.). Also, just a few quick questions: 1. What exactly can you do on the phone other than the normal phone stuff? 2. Who makes the phone? I've heard the name 'HTC' mentioned, but I've never heard of them. 3. What comes bundled with the phone in the box? It's either this, a Sony Ericsson K700i, or a Samsung D500. |

Registered 18 years ago1. It's a smartphone with 64Mb RAM and a mini SD card slot. You can run emulators, listen to mp3s, watch divx etc.
2. It is HTC who make it they also sell unbranded phones to other networks like sprint, T-mobile etc.
3. You get a usb cable, and a CD with Outlook 2002 and MS activesync so that you can synch contacts, tasks & calendar with your pc. -

HTC are a big company that makes Pocket PC PDAs for all sorts of well known companies that slap their own name on them.
In the box is a USB cable, charger, Outlook 2003 software and some sync software.
You can download loads of crap for it but it also has lots of stuff built in such as IE, WMP etc. IE is very handy as it actually works - I used it yesterday to check an urgent email on hotmail when my ISP went down.

The phone is an HTC Typhoon, but the i-Mate SP3 and the SPV C500 are the most common names. It must have at least 10 accross different networks in different countries.
