I've had barely any coffee for over three months actually, which covers the period I've had the shits as well.
In fact, the past couple of days I did drink coffee again from time to time, though never more than a single (albeit large) cup per day and not particularly strong either. But anyway, I'd expect the inverse from what I've experienced poo-wise.

I've recently started running more consistently again, could that make a difference? It's the only thing I can think of.

I had to really, really fight the urge to order a kebab for second tea last night.

I'm not drinking much more during lockdown, but I'm certainly eating for three and my bowel emissions are telling.
Is second tea a thing? What posh people call supper or just when we like eating more around 9pm! 😊

On matters poo, a bowl of cereal around 10pm can lead to good results in the morning I've found! But with the added risk of an afternoon log

Since the lockdown my poo has become more solid and I get a lot less urgency to go.

    Thought Iíd share.

Man, I had some olives and pickled peppers for a snack last night and the latter are coming out the other end with a vengeance. Almost feels as if I've applied mustard around my anus.

I've found sipping on water during meals has sorted out my poo. Used to get a little constipation now and then. Meals take longer but pooing takes less long.

@gillgrissom I did have a load of tests done, but they didn't find anything. Thankfully it doesn't happen as often as it used to.

Iíd been away from the forum for a while and returned the other day. Glad to see this thread still going with some fantastic material. No current poo stories from me.

For the bloke who asked about running potentially affecting poo: I havenít run in a while but I do remember that when I was running early in the mornings, I found myself going to the toilet about 2-3 times before leaving for work. And Iím one of those people that doesnít go every morning. Running definitely sped things along.

It might have been me? While running helped to get me going, I started bleeding when going! :o

I feel like I'm finally getting ontop of my chronic constipation and IBS. Switched to all bran in the morning, which I soak in milk in the fridge overnight, add 2 big heaped teaspoons of flax seed and a sugar in the morning. That's nearly 20g fibre in one hit.

Then I have a glass of prune juice before I go to bed, and I seem ready to go around 11am.

Other than that I just eat my usual stuff, which was fairly high fibre to begin with, at least 2 veg with every meal pears, raspberries, stotes oat bars, fibre one cakes, naked bars et al.

Sometimes I skip a day, but not having the trouble to get things moving again the next day like I used to, and previously I could go 4-5 days without a movement, so definitely improved.

Piles, mebbe? I almost fainted a couple of years ago when I wiped and found just bright red blood. Didn't even feel any discomfort, but felt very anxious about going for the next week!

Slime and mucus is classic ibs. I get quite a bit of that.

My bleeding was down to internal hemorrhoids in the end, which surprised me as I don't have any externally. It's amazing the amount of blood that can come out, mine was scary there was so much.

    Do you run techno?

I don't run, and have been tested for piles, prostate cancer and a bunch of other stuff. It used to be daily, but it's much less common these days.

Out of curiousity: when you blow your nose, does a stool come out on occasion?

No, but I have sneezed and shat at the same time and thought I'd shat out my intestines.

I'm thinking of having my internal piles 'rubber-banded' as I get the blood quite often, once or twice a week.

It's not great for the sphincter but surely you can power through a turd in under a minute in emergency situations?
