The Arkham series has been good, but I'm kinda sick of the formula now. Unless this has completely changed from the previous games - which is highly unlikely - I think I'll pass. I finished Arkham City recently and it felt like I completed the first game a second time. -
It has the Batmobile, so I wonder if this will take the open worldness to the next level and become a kind of 'Grand Theft Arkham' type thing.
Next gen exclusive is good news, and it's Rock Steady again, so I'm definitely up for this. -

I have every confidence in Rocksteady making this as bigger joy to play as the original Arkham. Good news that they aren't limiting next gen goodness to accommodate for the PS3 / 360 too.

Origins was decent but this feels like the real deal so far. -

Registered 12 years agoUnfortunately, I'm all Arkham'd out. One game too many for me. I never found the combat to be anywhere near as deep as was hyped. Really well put together games though, and I'm sure the more hardcore comic book/Batman fans amongst you will get much enjoyment from this. -

Registered 14 years agoOk I haven't been able to watch the trailer yet as I'm in the office but going by the reaction I'll do it first thing when I get home. -

Yeah, AA was enough for me. Was good fun but didn't find it nearly as exciting as people on here did.

Must say that my excitement stems from the fact that I haven't played Origins and don't intend to now, unless it's on PS+ this year. -

Registered 10 years agoThought AA was fantastic and AC was consistently good (great at times). I'm probably one of many who skipped Origins so I'm quite looking forward to this.
Subtitle is poor, though. -
This game could go one of two ways for me.
I massively preferred Asylum to City. The former was a tighter, better constructed game. While opening it out to the City added a bit of cool scaling buildings and flying around stuff, ultimately it just broke the rhythm of the game as you have unnecessary travel between locations, and it lost the tight, well-paced feel of the original. This could make the same mistakes on an even bigger scale.
However, there was unrealised potential in the city, and if they can bring some of that out and draw on what makes games like GTA so good, this could be a really good game. -

Registered 12 years ago@M83J01P97 Yeah I suppose it was a stupid question. Although it may come back to bite them as people may be a bit Arkham'd out after playing three games in the series and the fourth one coming out so soon after the last.
(Not me though) -

Registered 14 years agoWonder how they get past drivable Batmobile + Batman 'won't kill' ethos...
Will enemies magically dive out of the way? Surely they won't remove NPCs when you're driving?

Yeah, the open world aspect of AC felt a little redundant after you have sling-shotted and glided your way across the map once or twice. There was definitely a neat idea going on with it, but they need to develop the world into something more dynamic and enjoyable to explore rather than just dumping a few location puzzles here and there.

Having skipped Origins (like most in this thread it seems) I really am stupidly excited to play it.

Registered 18 years agoSkipped Origins so excited to play another Batman game again.
Glad to hear this is the last game in the Arkham series. City was even wearing a bit thin. -
I'm very excited! Loved Asylum, City was great but not quite as good, and not played Origins yet - although I will at some point. Hope they've nailed the open world aspect of it this time around, the fact you can drive the batmobile is awesome. As kal says, if it has the elements that make stuff like GTA so enjoyable to free roam about, it'll be ace.
Plus, next gen only is good.
