    That's pretty cool, especially as it's not actually Game's fault in any way.
    I'll have to spend my money on some other piece of geeky plastic tat.

    Working in a video game retailer has it's perks.

    @LegendaryApe Cheeky chap! :)

    I think it's the only perk of that place that I miss, had Super Street Fighter IV a few days before even the US release.

    Definitely the only benefit. Lately anyway- It's like working for the Empire these days where Darth Vader randomly shows up and force-chokes your danglers.

    @ChiefGB

    There is indeed a patch. Not sure of size but it took 20 minutes on my broadband which is quite fast.

    Haven't had a chance to play it yet unfortunately.

    It's ridiculous alright. We have a lot of them preordered alright but they want a 25% attach rate.

    We're in a tiny town which has no money and they want 1 in 4 to spend €40 extra on a €75 game.

    All while pushing preorders, GP, loyalty cards, trade-ins and preowned games. For minimum wage.

    @LegendaryApe

    I missed out on the loyalty cards (which are something I find funny as they love giving their customers "carrots", but there's fuck all incentive for the staff), but I remember landing into work on the day GP started... my stomach dropped.

    I really feel for the guys in my old place as I'm in a small town too. CEX opened recently and is about a 2 minute walk, so their trade ins have dropped massively, meanwhile there's HMV/Xtravision literally two doors up. If you go a bit outside of town (but still well within walking distance) there's an Argos and Smyths here too. I think something has to give (company wide), they're genuinely losing customers to better pricing.

    Oh, I also love the fact that they binned the open music licence in favour of the piped in shit that gives the place a similar ambiance to fucking Tesco! Clowns!

    All very similar to where I am. Which is why I'm continually looking for work. Still, despite it all, it's better than nothing.

    Anyway, back to Batman. Loving it so far, just passed the tutorial stage, which is the video with Poison Ivy they have shown.

    I'm off tomorrow so will have a better impression of it tomorrow evening.

    @ecu

    So far, pretty similar to Arkham City. I haven't played enough yet to get a proper idea of it but so far it's the same formula.

    If you liked Arkham City you'll love this. Personally I preferred Asylum but so far I'm enjoying it.

    How does the engine hold up, I'm not a big fan of the character art style in this one I think it could have looked so much better. batman seems to have a chimps face for instance and the women characters just don't look as good as city etc dispite the clear improvements in general. Does it look truly next gen?

    As everyone forgot to review this?

    This is a stupidly late review embargo.

    @JoelStinty It's not that unusual really, most games have an embargo until release date.

    @ChiefGB

    I'd agree regarding the art style. Engine-wise it was perfect, no frame rate issues or tearing I noticed. To be fair it does look a next gen game. The weather effects and added details in the city are much better which adds to the atmosphere. I was n two minds about getting it but the little time I played I was very impressed.

    I played for 30 minutes roughly but this evening will be in a position to give furthet impressions.

    I've just gone to game collection again as it's costing me just under £35, probably too late for early dispatch now but ho hum, what I save on the game I can spend on the crazy season pass price.

    I have bought the premium version on Xbox One. Made a quick trip to Delaware (wink, wink) and bought it for $89.99. Which translates to a little less than £60. According to my banking app. BRILLIANT!
