@Deckard1 Maplins are staffed by individuals who wish they had a better job so instead, they talk down to people about cables.

They are in the same league as the tech guys at PC World.

I knew the guy who used to run the Grimsby branch (yeah, yeah.. I know. Name-dropper...). 8.70/hr or something he got paid for running the show. Needless to say they only employ the best candidates (that the job centre force to attend an interview that morning).

Shopping at Maplins is like the first level in MGS, trying to avoid being spotted and followed by one of the cunts that works there, so you can just crack on, pick up what you need and get out of there without the '!' sound going off in their heads.
