For stuff that doesn't (yet) warrant their own threads. The Zero Theorem - New Terry Gilliam film. A nice cast, led by Christophe Waltz, showing his arsecrack in this odd trailer. Where Brazil showed someone ordinary seeking to escape dystopia, this appears to be about something extraordinary seeking to escape utopia. You'll never guess how much it cost to make - shocking. Oh go on then, guess. Out today/tomorrow. Yurusarezaru Mono - Unforgiven, Japanese style. Looks great. Alas - it's already been on release and it's showing hardly anywhere. Anyone see it? Both look like something to look forward to on BD. |

I like the look of Zero Theorem a lot, but only really because it reminds me of Brazil. I worry that the trailer's playing on that resemblance for the lack of anything genuinely new to show a little too heavily. Does look very impressive for the money though. -

Registered 19 years agoI saw the Zero Theorem this evening at the Imagine Festival. It is excellent and a very suitable follow-up to Brazil and Twelve Monkeys, with which it shares a lot in common. Well worth watching, and definitely has a lot of new themes and is a fitting allegory to 21st century existence. -
