It's interesting how introducing yourself and saying hi (as encouraged by the site, if I remember right) is usually reviled, flamed or ridiculed by forum elders.
What's wrong with it? Shouldn't we meet others with respect and appreciate their will to greet us before joining discussions rather than abusing them?
