It's all about familiarity. Just post in the relevant threads that interest you like Deck said - no introduction or "Hi, I'm new here guyz!".
Over time, your nick becomes recognizable and you become a regular. Even though it's the Internet, it's just like any other form of social interaction - you don't rush up to a bunch of strangers and start being all buddy, buddy. -
