Registered 12 years agoWell, I was initially a little miffed to have to start on normal difficulty, but it seems a bit closer to hard on Diva f - just with only two inputs. Hopefully hard isn't like the previous game's extreme mode, that was a bit too much for my poor brain. -

Registered 15 years agoI switched right to easy to get used to the songs - 3 perfects and a ton of 1 SAFE runs, including earning the horrifying title SAFE at Last (break the combo with a SAFE on the very last note -_-) -

That said, there's a demo of the first game if you want to try it out. It has 3 of the tracks from the first game but they aren't in this second game. The gameplay is the same (i.e. all the face buttons, directions and star notes) but:
It's not at native res (2nd is at native res)
Doesn't include the new link/twin star notes (new in 2nd)
Doesn't allow you to use the analog sticks for star notes (you have to swipe the screen)
It should give you an idea of what to expect at least.

Registered 12 years agoJeez. 'This is the Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee' is going to be tough on higher difficulties. I just played it for the first time on normal and just missed clearing it 
I haven't found any songs I'm that particularly fond of yet, though. -

Registered 12 years agoI do like that normal is more of a challenge this time - if they're going to force you to play it, at least it's interesting 
I think I've only unlocked about a dozen songs so far, but there's nothing I like as much as 'Unhappy Refrain', 'Secret Police', 'Tengaku', 'Melancholic', or even catchier stuff like 'Freely Tomorrow' or 'Weekender Girl'.
It's still early though, and I'm sure some will grow on me. -

Also, I just did Akatsuki Arrival for the first time and I really like that. Can see myself playing that one a lot. -
