Hello! Slightly abusing the forum rules here with a promotional post but I get a lot of emails asking about how to break in to the games industry, do games testing etc... and for once I can actually help. In case it is of interest to anyone here: We're working with a company called VMC Games who are looking for testers to join their AAA Beta Testing Sessions from the comfort of their home. Their Global Beta Test Network allows thousands of gamers to join test sessions for (highly anticipated) upcoming console and PC games. They are expanding and need new members to report issues, give their feedback - and get paid for it. They are currently specifically looking for Xbox One and PC gamers from all over the world. Edit - thanks though, at least seems more legit than many videogame career things (like that development course that loans you the fees via salesmen).

Registered 16 years agoThanks for sharing this as it seems like an reasonable enough way to get a look at some new up and coming stuff. I wouldn't go for it myself as I'm fairly sure you'll have to be online at a specific time for server testing or similar, but I do hope it's of use to some people. -

Anyone heard how much it actually *pays*? I've signed the NDAs, completed the info surveys but no-one's actually revealed the money that'll get handed out in return for the work :-/ -

Registered 10 years agojust had code to download game, pays $10.50 an hour so about £6.30, you dont get paid until the project ends. was sceptical but its legit -

Had a retaining wall collapse out my smoking area. Smashed the back of the pub and affected the structural integrity of my toilet block.
Landlady is skint and didn't have insurance. The clown. Its in the process of being bought and the new owner is happy for me to lease the place but we're looking at least 6 months by the time its gutted and refitted.
