I apologise if this is the wrong place to post it.

My Mum got an email today from the Microsoft account team informing her that personal details had been changed on the account.

I went through the link it provides to see account activity and within the two minutes it took to get the email her account had been accessed in the USA 1st, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other places.

Here username had been changed but everything appeared normal. It could be an isolated incident due to logging in via a uni laptop a few weeks ago but thought I should share it here as I'm sure others use outlook for the old hotmail emails and Xbox live account.

You sure it was a legit ms email?

As sure as I can be yes but I know what you mean. It did seem suspicious but even accessing the account later on using a phone after changing the password still displayed all the odd activity.
