| I don't really care about storyline spoilers in a film like this, but there were some annoying spoilers in that trailer. It totally ruined whateve surprise there was of the T-Rex saving them and the tension of whether the raptor remembers Chris Pratt's character. |

Registered 18 years agoPretty terrible trailer.
It looked like stuff they couldn't fit into the previous film and gives me zero desire to go and see it. -

Registered 8 years agoThe Director has mentioned that he is throwing in lots of surprises, as well as giving people what they usually expect from a JP movie.
I was especially glad hearing that after watching the official trailer. It looked like shown the main bits and the lead up to the end of the movie.
Plus, no obvious glimpse/audio of any new Dino was worrying. -

Registered 17 years agoI remember all this talk after the original JW trailer - that it showed the entire film, etc, and then the film had a lot more and also did what was shown in a less obviously stupid way and it wasn't nearly as bad as was feared.
Obviously now more people hate it for reasons but the point still stands. You can't claim its shown the entire film without having seen the entire film. We know that marketing need to show more in order to get people into theatres in the first place (this was also specifically pointed out in an interview with Trevorrow on the first film that I've linked a couple of times previously). -

Registered 16 years agoI thought there were a couple of new dinosaurs in there: the Carnotaurus that is threatening them before the Rex takes it down, and whatever creature that is that comes from the sewer. -

Registered 20 years agoI'd love to see the next film (or even a Netflix/HBO-series) set in a post-apocalyptic world where the dinosaurs have made it to the mainland and bred/hunted/fed for a good few years.
In others words, Joel and Ellie versus 'Raptors, please!

I’m a huge fan of all three of the original films, obviously the first one especially. I agree this was not a good trailer. All that’s in the trailer is from the first half of the movie though. There’s something going on with Dr Wu and Ingen, as hinted in the first JW, behind the scenes. Second half will be based around this and Lockwood Manor (Lockwood was a business partner of John Hammond). Basically Dr Wu has been cooking up a smaller version of the Indominus, an ‘Indoraptor’, which can be partially seen at the beginning (orange eye) and end (2:30 mark) of this much better BTS trailer, along with the manor.

My guess is this Lockwood guy has some sort of facility on his estate and Dr Wu was sending all his findings about the hybrids to them. They’ve been working on the smaller versions of the indominus (which Hoskins mentioned at the end of JW just before he was killed) as a means of keeping Ingen alive, possibly selling the idea of them as weapons to the government. These Indoraptors escape (surprise surprise) and we get a creepy, horror style ending in the manor.
God knows where they’re going with this for the third. Either Indoraptors as weapons or all these dinos they’ve brought back to the mainland will escape, or maybe both! -

Registered 17 years agoThat's clearly the direction of this trilogy, and it makes sense within the context of the films. There aren't that many deadlier than T-Rex/Velociraptor dinos to use without creating their own. -

Registered 12 years agoSaw this last night after reading part of this thread. Didn't like it. Mainly the special effects, it just doesn't look real to me. Part of it is the bad lighting but what bugs me most is the bad animation. Early in the movie they even animated a bird and even that looked fake as shit. -

Judging by the last movie and the details of this one provided by someone else, are you saying that this round of JP films aren't about bio-engineered dinosaurs?
I do also have a girlfriend, its true. She occasionally reads and posts here. Lukas is weirdly obsessed about her and mentions her quite frequently, even when I haven't. It's odd. -

Don't need, no, but it's what we've got. I guess the fear is that if they aren't adding anything then then they're repeating the T-rex/raptor threat over and over.

It was originally heading in the direction of military owned combat dinosaurs, so this is significantly a better choice imo. -

If JW3 doesn’t have raptors firing laser rifles then it’s going to be so wank.
