For a retailer to sell you grey imports?

I just received my iriver only to find out that it's a US model. I'm pretty sure that's something I should have been made aware if before I bought it. Checking their website the model number does have (US) after it but that's not exactoly being straight.

Anyone know what the socre is? It's not even a tiny operator.

Did you order from the web?

Let's have a look at the site to make a better judgement.

Yup. There's nothing apart from (US) after the model number to indicate that this isn't a product for the British market.

Most grey imports are legal - drugs and other controlled stuff being the exceptions. Or if they are a trademark infringment - ie Levis/ Tesco. I don't think the seller even has to bother to say if they are grey or not.

So they can sell me a £200 pound product without any warranty, and without informing me of the nature of my purchase?

Not too bloody happy, and getting less happy listening to hold music on their customer support line.

Reckon that's what I'm gonna do Bill. Don't fancy having a player with no warranty, and I don't want to be forced to upgrade with a foreign firmware to get the USB on the go functionality.

    Right pissed off.

Instead of pissing aroud with bad legislation the governemnt should introduce a law that compless etailers to answer their frigging customer support lines....

This company is edging close to losing all my business, which it gained after ebuyer pissed me off with their customer service.
