"how do these movies keep making a billion dollars?"

"For some reason thousands of people keep going to see them even though they expect them to be shit"

Not sure if any of the DCEU films have made a $1billion during their theatrical run.

Rumours are that they are going to make WW the main spearhead of the DCEU going forward. Makes sense I suppose if Batfleck is out. Supposed to be four films with Harley Quinn currently in development. A more female focused DC set of films.

As I hated this film so much, I'm curious as to what Snyder would have done had he finished it. Would it have been 'better'?

I think so, personally. He's not great but at least it would have had a consistent vision and tone.

BvS Extended has a lot of problems, mostly that its overly long and boring (ignoring the general butchering of Superman as that started in MoS), but there's not a lot wrong with it in terms of it's film making/story telling. I still don't think its hugely likeable but it's not total shit. The theatrical version is awful as it all got cut-up and rearranged with pieces missing. Justice League has the same problems as BvS Theatrical and Suicide Squad.

WB producers need to stop getting involved because they're actively making their projects worse by forcing edits, especially between multiple directors/editors.

I suppose it would have been more like the movies their core band of loyal idiots have convinced themselves they like.

    Snyder?

    Grimerer
    Darkerer
    More CGI
    More nu-metal
    More edgier

Saw it for free and it was not great, the bad guy was awful even for comic book character (the recent Thor film showed you can have comic book villain that is fun and plays the role well) Not sure if steppenwolf was all CGI but looked like it

The "humour" from the flash was just bad, and aqua man was just awful, the dialogue and how he drinks from the bottle and smashes like he is some bad ass, real shame no one shot in the face with a shotgun. Cyborg isn't really built on as they are cramming in so much still. Henry cavil is still fucking awful, he has much charisma as a wooden chair just throw across the screen. They (Joss?) tried to lighten up his character but it can't save his character.

Gal Gadot was fine in this mess of a script, Batfleck was ok. Trouble is the main plot is fucking awful and nothing can save it. On various sites quite enjoying the angry defence of the film (like BvsS before it) Lots of "not as bad as you fucking trying to MAKE it out as!!!!1111"

And yet the detractors biggest point in all of this is, none of it is as good as it could/should be.

Good but did less than Wonder Woman in the US.

Needs to do $600m top make profit

China did just under 60m and the UK 10m

"Zack Snyder’s big superhero team-up movie only made $96 million in its first weekend. That’s the lowest opening of any DC Films movie yet. Man of Steel made $116 million, Batman v Superman made $166 million, Suicide Squad made $133 million, and Wonder Woman made $103 million.

Compared to its competition, Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok opened to $122 million just two weeks ago, and Marvel’s first team-up movie, The Avengers, made a huge $207 million in its opening weekend".

It did. Turns out it was closer to $140 million for the opening weekend. It was a massive hit. Close to $746 million worldwide box office at the end of it's run.

Not much wrong with BvSs extendeds storytelling? The plot makes absolutely no sense and is reliant on a huge number of coincidences and everyone being an idiot.

There's plenty wrong with it to see that Snyder is terrible.

So he directed it will but the plot was incoherent nonsense? Who did you think is supposed to make sure that isn't the case, especially when he was also producer.

The directing style is also horrible but maybe you like that style which is fair enough.

"how will a film that has 6 main characters, their supporting players, a story that revolves around an alien invasion, the terraforming of earth and the return of a familiar face, would fit in a 2hr runtime?"

Da Fuq? Is that in some pre historic time or is the guy writing that not aware of what terraforming means?
