Yeah it was beyond a joke and the fact it is literally the first thing you see.

Saw this last night too, whoo, what a pile of shit.

Really short film, most jokes fell flat, there was no sense of tension, some really dodgy cgi (that lip) and I still have no idea what the point was of including that Russian family. Also it seemed quite devoid of people, as in there was no indication of the world's reaction to what was going on especially as the man who they apparently all loved i.e. Superman is now alive again. Don't get me started on how cheesy it was, that group shot overlooking the town was hilarious and that race between Flash and Superman made me groan.

Couple reports today saying WB are going to release the 2hr 30 minute Snyder cut.

Just needs some special effects finished and Junkie XL to finish the score.

    Film has done over $400m

Genuinely hope this is true (and actually decent). Release it on UHD BD and I'll buy it.

I didn't even think it was Cavil at the start! Thought it was some random dressed up or something. Then I noticed the bum chin.

If the brief from WB’s was to “make the most gloriously shit superhero film of all time”, then I declare this a raging success.

It felt as though a group of 5 year old had been filmed role-playing the justice league characters, and they used that as the plot template and dumped a load of sub-par CGI on the top.

Superman’s lip effect was the star of the show, drawing genuine laughs from the handful of people in my screening. Seriously, I can’t believe how awful it was - imagine what that’s going to look like in 4K!

Stepenwolf looks as though he was designed on an Amiga, and Cyborg had about as much creative invention as an ikea shelf. They somehow turned Batman into the least intimidating superhero since Green Lantern. No wonder Affleck is out.

Yet despite all of that it is weirdly watchable.

Somebody has just said to me they enjoyed jl and bvs because of the deep and philosophical moments that make you think, vs the marvel films being comedies with no depth at all. Yeah make me think I could be watching something more entertaining instead.

What philosophical moments were there in Batman vs Superman?

"Y'know if Superman was real people would probably think he was a god"

    Really makes you think.

Was Man of Steel the one where he does the Jesus pose in space? Or was that Returns? Or both of them.

Whichever it was, it made me instantly convert to Christianity.

Oh, and the bit where Russell Crowe talks about how He gave the Earth His only Son, so He could save them and show them the way.

I thought about that long and hard, and after months of deliberation I realised that he really is a bit like Jesus isn't he. I'm glad they didn't make it too obvious, it's good to let people think for themselves.

It certainly has made me think about the nature of existence like all the best philosophy does.

If Superman is a bit like Jesus then maybe we all do just share one consciousness. Really makes you think.

Not just that. They also ask the important question "If there was a Superman, should he save people, or should he just start letting everybody die so it doesn't look like he's picking favourites?". Deep stuff.

I believe it was Plato who first studied the "If Superman were real" school of philosophy.

There's also deliberation about the age-old question: When you have a disagreement with someone and are confronting them, is it better to listen to what they have to say for a minute or so? Or, is it better to get straight to punching them in the face?

Lets not forget the study of Nietzsche's 1872 paper "If your enemies mum has the same name as your mum, can he really be your enemy?"

I mean, it's pretty well-known that the Palestinian peace process under Clinton broke down because Clinton started punching Ariel Sharon and Yasir Arafat in the face before anyone said anything.

If you're a newspaper Editor, should you employ someone with a reasonable knowledge in Sports to do your sports reporting, or just randomly assign other reporters on a whim? Really, isn't the knowledge of sports in the hearts of us all?
