The Flash tv show is almost flawless in terms of being simply fun entertainment. This version of the character will have a hard time competing against that, for me.

There's also a really unnecessary amount of detail on his suit (and Batman's, for that matter. His suits in BvS were so much better).

    Cyborg just looks shit.

Definitely prefer the BvS suit but he appears to wear a couple in this again so maybe it just for when they go up against the big baddie?

And seriously what's going on with WW's face in that pic?

Robot guy looks like a character from a third-rate FPS.

After the utter dirge that was BvS, I've no doubt whatsoever that Snyder will once again make this into an overlong, dull, stupid slogfest of a film.

Shazam movie split into 2 parts. One to focus on him and the other on Black Adam (played by Dwayne Johnson)

Flash film is now getting a complete rewrite to take it in a different direction. It's lost two directors and now this.

Batman' suit looks like it has a really low polygon count.

Affleck has stepped down from directing The Batman but will still act and produce.

For many, he was a key figure in making that film work as a director. I wonder if the DCEU will ever get good?

I think there's plenty of directors who would 'get' Batman and who could make it work. Whether Warners know who they are is another question I guess. So far they've not filled e with any confidence that they know what they're doing in terms of big picture stuff.

They need someone as good as Kevin Feige over at Marvel. And to stop using Zack Snyder.

That's a shame. I liked the thought of him directing. There's plenty of good talent out there. Fingers crossed they don't just keep down the same path they have been doing.

Rumour is that Matt Reeves is top of the shortlist to take over directing duties.

Matt Reeves would be a solid pick. He clearly knows how to do good storytelling in a larger world - I loved the last Planet of the Apes movie.

Affleck's comeback is rapidly turning into a comebackdownagain. Not surprised he's distancing himself from these films. If I were him I'd drop the role all together.

Even on his comeback his hit rate is pretty poor. Less than 50% of what he's been involved in over the last 5 years had been good and the rest has been mediocre to awful.

Don't think him not directing is that big a loss tbh.

He was gaining a bit of a reputation as a proper director. Oscar nominations and such. But yeah, Live By Night has temporarily fucked that.

Out of the films he's directed Town is his best imo. Gone Baby Gone was very good as well but I though the ending was kind of pish (although that's probably not his fault). Argo didn't really do it for me. He's obviously a very talented director though.

Yeah I really like him as a director. The Town is also my favourite of his that I've seen. I liked Argo a lot too though, and Gone Baby Gone (although I rewatched that recently and I didn't think it was as good for some reason).

They used to be friends but Smith has said numerous times on Fat Man on Batman that he hasn't seen or had anything to do with him in years. Smith would acknowledge that he wouldn't be a good fit for the film, as much as he'd love to do it.

Smith isn't a director you hire if you want a house style lump of crap pushed out of the sausage factory.

He would want to do things his way like, I dunno, trying to get the story to make sense.

I wonder if WB are going to start over if Wonder Women and Justice League fail to hit the big money. Sure the recent films have been profitable but you want mega bucks with these characters not just getting by.

I'm not going to the cinema again for any DC films unless the reviews are amazing and faith in the brand must be down the toilet by now surely for some people. The DC films making less money is the only way to make WB put out better films and hopefully begin again.

I'll take a Denis Villeneuve DC film please.

I can understand the temptation to try and copy the Marvel model, but they were already onto a much better thing with the Nolan Batman films. They should have let similar auteur directors do their own thing with the IP and they'd have probably ended up with similar results. Let George Miler do that Justice League film he's always wanted to do. Give Superman to Spielberg. Wonder Woman to Kathryn Bigelow. Batman to Aronofsky. Etc etc.

Yes you wouldn't haven't had a cohesive universe to milk, but you'd have had something different and incomparable. And you'd probably end up with some genuinely top tier movies, way beyond the cookie cutter Marvel stuff.
