I'm looking forward to seeing more of this as it has potential to be great, but I feel that they're rushing into it too quickly. Obviously they're after the megabucks that Avengers brought Marvel/ Disney and don't want to spend the time making solo films for the main characters before getting it. Isn't Avengers 3 due around 2017? That could be interesting. |

I suppose they'll test the water with this and Batman vs Superman to see if the fans want her in a solo film. They've not been able to find any kind of script that will do her justice (no pun intended). Joss Whedon did a script for a solo film which was abandoned.
Wonder Woman is quite possibly the shittest super hero ever devised. Obviously there's worse characters, but its the fact that people actually give the character credibility that sets it above the rest. All hail the Lasso of Truth!!!!
Probably the only way this would work was if they somehow got a cracking script. Grant Morrison is currently working on new graphic novel called "Wonder Woman: The Trial of Diana Prince" which may get something going.
Again though, outside of Superman and Batman, who do the other characters have as worthy adversaries? Even memorable for that matter. -

Registered 8 years agoMuch like other people to me it just more looks like they're seeing the megabucks rolling into the Avengers/spin-off franchises and want a piece of the pie without good reason to be doing these films.
Multiple interlinked comic book stories make billions. Erm, lets cobble something together and we'll get rich too!

That Edgar Wright Ant-Man demo reel looked pretty cool. And if they go with the Ultimate version he can also turn into giant man and have the power of wife beating. Maybe they'll do a sequel based on Irredeemable Ant-Man and show someone using the costume to spy on girls in the shower.
Plus there's Dr Strange and Ant-Man coming out before this too, neither of which have 'cool' names or particularly great powers. -

Registered 18 years agoSnyder can't really do wrong, the films will make loads of money.
Man of Steel is shit but everyone wants to see Batman and Superman in a film so that will be successful and so onto his third film. Sucks but studio sees good numbers, why change course.
I don't believe a better script helps him. He has an eye for detail and that's it. -

I would definitely watch the mooted Winding Refn version of Wonder Woman with Christina Hendricks in the titular role.

It's going to be pretty strange in 20-30 years looking back at all these superhero films. We are all going to look like complete idiots. -

The shit all gets forgotten in time. There were about a billion disaster movies in the 70s but the only ones anyone is really aware of now are Poseidon Adventure and Towering Inferno. -

They include 'Shazam,' 'Metal Men,' '100 Bullets,' and 'Fables.'"
Also Justice league Dark which I believe del Torro is working on. More interested in that side of DC
Quote by Del Torro “… I am going to be presenting my storyline to DC and Warners of where I want to take this universe. We do have a writer, but until that is firmed up, I have to keep it a secret. I hope it happens. It’s going really really well. It’s like meeting old friends. I grew up with Demon Etrigan, with Swamp Thing, with Deadman, so these are characters that are near and dear to my heart.” -

Registered 16 years agoHe's drawn pretty fucking buff in some of the more recent comics, and as he's ex special forces and all that shit there's no harm in him being a little ripped.
As long as Simmons doesn't wander around the entire time in a skin tight tiny vest, I don't see the harm. -

@Tonka
So, erm... What are you doing in this thread?
Say what you like about Snyder (is he even the director of this still?...), but Simmons is a damn fine actor. -

And the jumps continue as Colin Farrell goes from Marvel to DC. No word on who he will play.
