http://www.callofduty.com/new-era Will be revealed early on Sunday May 4th. Will contain a man with a gun. Hopefully this one will be the one to add something all new and interesting (even just a futuristic setting would do) and will be "new-gen" only, but I doubt either of those will happen. |

Registered 17 years agoA sci-fi CoD could be a step forward. The series has always been good for awesome set pieces so there's all kinds of stuff they could do with spaceships and aliens and LASERS. -

We are almost at the point where a WW2 shooter would be a welcome relief again. -

They helped on it (mostly with the mp I think) but this is their first title made by themselves.

GameInformer have all the details as it's GI next issues cover story -
It's starring Morgan Freeman! -
I wouldn't mind another Vietnam game now plants and trees can be rendered more realistically. -
I always thought it would be cool if there was a Cold War game that covered all the proxy wars - Greek Civil War, Korean War, Afghanistan, Arab/Israel - as well as Vietnam. You'd get a good mix of locations and battle types, and it's a really interesting period of history as well. -

Registered 11 years agoThe last World War II game I played - Call of Duty 2 - was back in 2005/2006 and we could really do with going back to that era and perhaps do a global tour of different (real life) battles? A mixture of Band of Brothers and The Pacific for example.
... if this is yet another modern day military campaign, then there shall be a lot of yawn-o-ramas during the unveiling of this new Call of Dury game.
If that screenshot above is a genuine indication of the games visual quality, it could very well give Battlefield a run for its money for the very first time. I, however, remain optimistic for now. -

Registered 11 years agoHmm, that screen makes it look as though it will at least be "near-future". I'm hoping it will be further in the future so we can have lasers, beams and the like, if nothing else just so we can have different sounds for the weapons. -

Registered 17 years agoWell considering they were rumored to be making CoD in space a couple of years ago. We all laughed it off then. But after the success of Titanfall you can count on.a future CoD with Mechs and spaceships. -

Registered 16 years agoI'm hyped to see what technological leaps they can bring to the table this time. HDR lighting, bump-textured rocks, curvy iron sights, and fish AI for Ghosts really showed off how ahead of the curve they are.
So, parallax scrolling maybe? Or perhaps even BLAST PROCESSING!!!
