    @chrisno21

    Nice one. Let me try that and see if I've already done it. Cheers

    Done the One Reborn so now my options are:

    Kill the crow hunter in the Cathedral where I fought Blood Starved Beast.
    Kill the 3 hunters in The Unseen Village.
    Make progress through the Nightmare Frontier.
    Make progress through Nightmare Mensis

    All these things are kicking my arse, so what do you reckon I should prioritise?

    @OllyJ if you have done the one reborn you may as well leave the 3 hunters (unless you have a masochist streak)

    The Crow hunter is where you fight Vicar Amelia not BsB

    Nightmare frontier is an optional area but with a cool boss/cameo

    Mensis is the way to end game.

    I would say go do nightmare frontier unless you still have Cainhurst... then do that and go meet Logie.

    Nightmare frontier, whilst optional, is also where you get the Ailing Loran Chalice, if you want that.

    I'm in a similar boat - I've done Nightmare Frontier, but not Yar'hagul it seems. So it is the one reborn for me?

    I have not seen Cainhurst, so yeah maybe I'll do that. Kind of feeling like I'm about ready for it to end, I think it's relentlessly grim, so I'm going to finish it and play something super nice.

    Hehe,  yeah I'm at the same point you are and I'm getting pretty depressed playing it. I need something colourful after this.

    What's a quick way of telling which cords you've got and from where?

    @quadfather memory :)

    or descriptions

    "Every Great One loses its child, and then yearns for a surrogate. The Third Umbilical Cord precipitated the encounter with the pale moon, which beckoned the hunters and conceived the hunter's dream." - Abandoned Workshop

    "Every Great One loses its child, and then yearns for a surrogate, and Oedon, the formless Great One, is no different. To think, it was corrupted blood that began this eldritch liaison." - Arianna's Child

    "Every Great One loses its child, and then yearns for a surrogate. This Cord granted Mensis audience with Mergo, but resulted in the stillbirth of their brains." - Mergo's Wet Nurse

    "Provost Willem sought the Cord in order to elevate his being and thoughts to those of a Great One, by lining his brain with eyes. The only choice, he knew, if man were to ever match Their greatness." - Iosefka (imposter)

    yeah, fully done with Gothic architecture for at least a year. It's a brilliant game, but....the way I play it probably is unhealthy, just never want to be under-levelled so I backtrack ad nauseam. If I just ran to the last boss now I'd probably enjoy it more.

    Ah of course - the descriptions. Doh. Thanks, I'll check which one I have later.

    I need to upgrade Ludwig's sword too. Taking 4 hits at +7 to take out a standard goon isn't good enough.

    @OllyJ Same here.  I love backtracking and levelling my toon but I'm sooo overpowered now that I'm basically killing bosses in a few hits.  I really shouldn't have got the Whirligig so early as the weapon feels a tad broke.

    I don't know. Haven't logged on for about 6 months and I'm also super rusty. First attack against someone saw me instead activating the executioners gauntlets. Good start.

    @OllyJ Loved Cainhurst. One of the best areas of the game for me. I think the snow makes it less grim.

    Managed to do a fair bit of Nightmare Frontier. Up to the Amygdala boss, had 2 goes, died but seems doable. The later phase where it has extended reach is a right laugh.

    @quadfather did try that, she has a brutal jump attack that kept getting me panicked, I think a few more goes will be fine. just a twat that level none of the enemies drop blood vials at all.

    @OllyJ

    In the second phase I found a knee that I could hit near the feet and do reasonable damage unlike the feet.

    ok cool, gonna give it a go on my lunch break, hopefully make some progress. Managed to kill the crow hunter in the Catherdral (as someone rightly pointed out, where you fight Vicar Amelia). Managed to lure her/him to the stairs and Axe her to death.

    All hail the Axe R2 Master Race!

    Just Nightmare of Mensis left to do off that list! Also I seem to have a level open up, Mergos Loft Base.

    Unsure how to do Cainhurst, so probably have to look that up!
