@Duffking the armour you got is just plain better so stick with that. After that armour there is not really that many in the game that are much better than others. They are subjectively better depending on what the elemental problems you face are.

Werewolves are best dealt with from behind as they have a very slow turning circle.

Is Gascoigne supposed to just be a fight against the arena layout? He's barely even a threat but his second form has got me 3 times now because I got stuck on a wall and stun locked to death.

You can use that to stop him getting to you as well to cheese him if you have a rangy weapon. So much stuff on the floor to keep him at bay.

The camera and scenery are the two hardest enemies in the game

I don't really see much need to cheese, I just die because I back up to avoid an attack and suddenly I literally can't move because I'm stuck on scenery. Ah well ill just enjoy the lift ride down again.

So it's much easier when you don't lock on because suddenly you can dodge twice as far...

There's a certain item that can help for defeating Gascoigne depending on who you speak to.

I beat him without it the first time but it is handy if you want some help.

Oh I got him, I just kited him around the central bit as I stopped getting stuck on stuff that way.

Trying the Kirkhammer atm, seems pretty strong.

The kirkhammer is magic, the transform attack is a delight. Something to get used to is really sticking with a weapon, there are not many in the game in comparison to other souls games.

Did the Blood Starved Beast tonight, pretty straightforward area and boss.

    Really liking this hammer.

Paarl can fuck off. Moves around endlessly then when you get a window to attack it just does a 1 shot kill aoe on you that always gets you because you were brazen enoufh to try hitting it.

Ugh I'm going somewhere else. Wasting my blood vials now. As soon as it recovers from a knock down it's just a waiting game for when it kills you with an aoe that hits outside the actual visual effect.

Paarl does NOT like fire. Also he staggers easy to fuck. But yeah, he's an awkward prick to pin down.

I'm randomly watching ENB stream BB on twitch just now. Scratches my itch as I can't actually be arsed playing it just now with RDR2 being so good.

How do you stagger him? I invoked him down a couple of times but once he recharges that's basically it for me.

His legs all knock him down after each one has taken enough damage. also, strong r2's to his body fuck him up. You can get visceral on his head once he's down if I remember rightly.

Killed vicar amelia instead for now, at least she was easy. Will explore a bit more and come back to it.

I found BB the easiest from game as well. I rarely get one shots on bosses but I got loads in this.

Heh I'm not finding it easy. It's somewhere around ds2 difficulty for me, with 1 and demons the hardest and 3 the easiest.

For me it's probably (easiest to hardest) BB, ds2, DS3 ds1. I didn't bother getting too far on demon souls as the PS3 controller annoyed the hell out of me and I avoid using it wherever possible.

OK, got the witches of Henwick then went back and did Paarl on the second go. It was surprisingly straightforward this time - I didn't realise that after you knock him down you can make him lose his charge after he recharging. Going more aggressive post knock down just fucked him up. Only had to heal once.

Could not figure out how to land a visceral though when he was down.

Now wait till you meet Paarl in the chalice dungeons. Takes it to a new level. Unless you get lucky like me and Wunty did and manage to get him in an endless cycle of staggering and visceral attacks till he went down. You just go to his head to visceral him.

I find the chalices and the dlc in this to be some of the most difficult soulsborne bits. Dark 1 on the other hand I think is the easiest as everything is so easy to parry, even the final boss.

I spent most of D1 hiding behind a shield.

Light armour/naked BKH build is the way forward. You only really need heavy armour for the four kings fight.

I'm a bit weird with from games, I love them first time around but never finish second runs so don't really get to try many builds. I think I enjoy the tension and exploration and once that's done I lose interest.

I did enjoy following people around in dark souls 3 naked with a torch as an invader through the graveyard. People never knew quite what to do

Are the Chalice Dungeons optional? I've not really investigated them yet.
